As the scrum unfolded outside the Florida International University recreation center, accused killer Quentin Wyche broke away, hustling back to the building, witnesses told police.
``Then he kind of stopped in front of where I was and took out like -- took his backpack off and took out a pair of scissors from the backpack,'' witness Chidinma Orj told Miami-Dade police in newly released court documents.
Wyche, she told police, tried frantically to break apart the eight-inch scissors. ``He was just saying stuff like, I'm a get him'' she recalled.

Start with hedge shears and work toward scissors as not to shock the public.
Is it safe to assume that these people aren't English majors?
Has this crime gotten the national exposure of the Virginia lacrosse killing?
He’s just misunderstood. It’s the conservatives’ fault.
ping
Actually, I think it’s good that the press is not editing statements now. People say what they say...and you can tell a lot from the way they say it.
Black teenagers and young men have got to get a grip on this desire to settle everything by killing somebody.
Uh, no..could be English major or Ethnic studies...either way, they will not learn how to speak and or write.
‘Press 2 if you can’t speak English”
Well no.
After all, lacrosse is very popular.
Lacrosse is American.
Lacrosse is good for you.
Lacrosse is entertaining.
Lacrosse is everything.
What is lacrosse anyway?
I never heard of it until this week and in that time frame I think I have heard the word a 1000 times on the news!
Maybe he actually said Armageddon.
why.?..weeding out the DNA.
The overuse of the word “like” infuriates me. I heard a 20-something say earlier this week: “It came in LIKE three colors. It came in LIKE red, LIKE yellow and (get ready...) LIKE blue.”
Dollars to doughnuts there won’t be a spate of columns about how he was twisted into a life of crime because he played
football ...
(now if he had been playing lacrosse, the press would cover the story differently....)
The best (worst?) is phrasing such as ...
"I was like, y' know, whatever!"
“The overuse of the word like infuriates me. I heard a 20-something say earlier this week: It came in LIKE three colors. It came in LIKE red, LIKE yellow and (get ready...) LIKE blue.”
It’s....like....Little Moon Unit Zappas running around everywhere! LOL
Safe to assume they are some of our urban finest!
...Toronto?
English?
Family must have been Maple Leafs’ fans. OK, maybe not.
What was the fight about?
I can’t sort through the pidgin-english the witnesses are using.
Unfortunately, that seems to be the dominant DNA in that group...which has a 70% illegitimacy rate.
Churches should get working on these losers and help them turn their lives around. Unfortunately, the new model is that this is cool and it’s all because they hate George Bush and therefore whatever horrible things they do are just fine with the press. I saw a headline in my local paper about crime in Jacksonville, FL (one of the highest black on black murder rates in the country): “Murder is the killer of most young blacks.”
Somebody tell me who “urder” is when he’s at home. Murder is another young black.
Sorry, that’s Murder.
Chidinma?
Investigators believe Wyche had thrown cookies at Berry's girlfriend, sparking the deadly argument.

“What is lacrosse anyway?
Lacrosse is a sport played disproportionately by “over-privileged” white boys, especially at elite prep schools and universities. For this reason, we can expect the MSM to go bonkers whenever a white lacrosse player engages in or is alleged to engage in criminal conduct. Scrutiny is especially intense when the victim (real or alleged) is black. Black-on-black killings involving football players? Not so much.
I thought LaCrosse was a town in SW Wisconsin. ; )
My God, is everything a blood feud with these people ?
“Time to outlaw scissors.
Well, let’s not be hasty. A much more sensible “middle ground” would be to have all scissor owners register their weapons with the government, which is adept at distinguishing between owners who pose a threat to society and those who are not. That way, this kind of thing will never happen again, ever, not once, ever. And Americans will be grateful their government has once again protected them against scary risks that they are otherwise helpless against....
He would make for a great commercial.
"Good morning............but I digress".
Different topic but a 24-hour New England TV news outlet did a piece on the recent New Hampshire bus threat. Basically, the person taken into custody from Burundi was the victim because he didn’t speak English, a translator wasn’t available, passengers must have misheard him say “bomb” when he mumbled something in his own language, and oh yeah, seeing the various members of police displaying guns had to be extremely tough on him considering the strife in his home land.
Can I be first in line for the scissors buyback program?
maybe so, but it was pretty big news when it happened. ESPN covered it pretty thoroughly, for one.
“LaCrosse was a town in SW Wisconsin”
It is: I biked through there once. And just because you’re only semi-rich doesn’t mean you can’t be over-privileged... :-)
Yes, they should say, "My attitude towards that was indifferent."
“ESPN covered it pretty thoroughly, for one.”
Understood, but they are a sports network, so there’s plenty they cover that may never grace the pages of MSM such as NYT, WaPo, MSNBC, SeeBS etc. Did Keith Olbermann tag the accused as the Worst Person in the World? I presume not, but concede that I don’t know for sure as I cannot abide watching that guy.
Yeah. They had to be journalism majors, fer sure.
It was obviously a female murderer.
Try to keep in mind that these are college students.
Yeah, Jax is becomming another murder capitol.
I live here too....with the jax newspaper whining about the “poor blacks being murdered and their high infant mortality rate..” you would think the churches would do something.
The churches are more into Black Liberation theology I believe and the sexual relativism of “who’s my daddy” is now ok.
But really, lets give credit where credit is due! Black culture in the 30’s and forties and fifties was strong family and christian values and even a rising entrepeneurial class. Then the GREAT SOCIETY came and the Dems put all the blacks back on the Plantations! The Jacksonville Plantation, the Detroit and Chicago and LA Plantations! The Black Power Heroes booted their way into “power” a la Alinsky and Sharpton to keep Blacks enraged.
Did you leave out a comma, or is there such a thing as a ‘cookie bitch’? [Would that be a cookie eating female dog?]
