There is no “assault” on climate research. The so-called climate “scientists” had no ethics or morals and corrupted science and scientific method. THEY perverted data for their political ends. They are losers and should be put in jail, beaten with their lousy dissertations and made to wear dunce hats. “Assault” my ass.

This is what a real scientific report looks like. Testimony of The Viscount Monckton of Brenchley Before Congress May 6, 2010

"As I understand it, global warming of the type pushed by warmists means significantly higher temperatures in the Arctic and very similar temperatures in the tropics."

Water vapor is the primary greenhouse gas and it essentially negates increases in CO2 absorption. Whatever temperature that any particular layer, or region has now will simply be increased by hte same factor. There's no reason for energy to accumulate anywhere in the system. That would violate the principle of equipartition of energy.

" The severity of the storms is driven primarily by the difference in temperature of these areas, not by the absolute temperature."

The energy of each region is multiplied by essentially the same factor.

"So global warming should in theory result in less severe storms."

The neergy factor is <~0.7%. The bottom line is that the increase is insignificant and that does not justify turning over control of anything to any self appointed group of priviledged experts.

I am surprised that they only managed to get 250 of the 2100 NAS members to sign on to this. I wonder why the remaining members didn’t weigh in.

These “scientists” have nothing to do with climate science. Most are biologists or ecologists, in other words, tree-hugging earth muffins. Global warming is a religion to them, not a scientific pursuit. Oh, by the way, they are all cashing in on global warming grants for their studies of dung beetles by claiming that their research will demonstrate the evils of America and capitalism.

Many of these “scientists” are the same ones who were fearlessly predicting “global cooling” and a new Ice Age back in the ‘70s, but then the grant money and the TV gigs shifted, so now it’s “global warming,” and it’s only a coincidence, I suppose, that the result of “global warming” is greater power for government.

Looks like they’ve reached the foot stamping stange.

They've been in the rug chewing stage since the beginning of their warming lies and propaganda. These charlatans who call themselves scientists are the overtly political ones - they are virtually all Leftists and opposed to rational thought and scientific debate.

This list should be helpful in the future to identify them as the bought-and-paid-for political whores they are.

The Polar Bear photo that accompanied the letter was a photoshop job.

(I don’t know if Science inserted it or the authors did).

But how can they decry us questioning their integrity when their very letter demonstrates a lack of it.
