PORTLAND, Maine -- The newly adopted Maine Republican Party platform has drawn the attention of at least one Democratic candidate for governor, who calls it extreme.
Rosa Scarcelli issued a statement Sunday saying the GOP platform adopted a day earlier "lowers an iron curtain of intolerance" around Maine and moves the state backwards.
The platform advanced by a group of Knox County conservatives, which replaced the party's proposed platform, was cheered by the convention's tea partiers. The new platform reaffirms a pledge to the U.S. and Maine constitutions and opposes unconstitutional federal intrusions.
Scarcelli, one of four Democratic gubernatorial candidates, said the platform reflects the beliefs of right-wing extremists and "takes us backward."
How is that extreme?
Takes us backwards? Nothing is as backwards as socialism.
Think like a Socialist. Any mention of the Constitution means you’re backward looking. After all, that’s an ancient document.
If it’s extreme, then why complain about it? Just sit back and let the Maine Republicans commit suicide then.
The term “radical extremists” applies to the Left in this country and they have proven it.
WE should be calling THEM radical extremists every opportunity we get, and be quick and sharp to refute that conservatives are the radicals EVERY time they make that assertion.

Ms. Rosa Scarcelli only wants the best for the Administrative District of Maine.
Therefore the GOP "re-do" must be the correct path and the dems are running scared.
Normal patriotic Americans ARE "right-wing extremists".
Those who believe in the Constitution and traditional Judeao-Christian values are "right-wing extremists".
The founding fathers were "right-wing extremists".
Bump.
Belief in upholding the constitution is taking us backwards? If so then let’s kick this country into reverse.
Especially from a Communist's perspective....
Anytime a liberal calls something “extreme”, it means the rest of us probably would label it “correct”.
Well yeah.
Who else would say such a thing?
It draws Dems fire? Did Snowe and Collins come out screeching against it already?

Gee, that sounds extreme to me. Jeesh.
After destroying the meaning of the word 'racism', the Democrats are out to destroy 'extreme' too. They're going to have to re-name the X-Games.
