Ga. Seniors Told They Can’t Pray Before Meals

http://www.wsbtv.com/news/23495797/detail.html

“Tim Rutherford, Senior Citizens Inc. vice president, said some of his staff recently visited the center and noticed people praying shortly before lunch was served. Rutherford said his company provides meals like baked chicken, steak tips and rice and salads at a cost of about $6 a plate. Seniors taking the meals pay 55 cents and federal money foots the rest of the bill, Rutherford said.”

That is no excuse to forbid them to pray.

Just think, after Obamacare gets fully implemented, the government may well decide to “protect our health” by providing what we can eat, get our daily ration of health food, then, since we are getting it from the government, they can stamp out prayer — you want to eat, don’t pray.

Old folks that want to pray are banned from doing so and if they don't like it, why they can go hungry because the new Uncle Sam is a crusader against religion.

Bullcrap. Let them bow their heads in silent prayer. If the feds assume they're praying, let them try to prove it. For all the feds know, they were taking a moment for silent reflection on the generosity of Gaia and the wonders of multiculturalism.

Who cares what they say. Do it anyway. Force the issues and make Big Gov. Inc. have to try to enforce their silly rules. They can’t do it.

Most likely the real problem was that no one could agree on a common prayer. The senior citizen's center is open to all seniors, and they had a committee get together and come up with an acceptable prayer for all. One committee member wanted to end the prayer with "In Jesus' Name, Amen." Another wanted to end the prayer with "Praise be to Allah!" Another wanted to end with "Be it so, praise Gia!" Still another wanted to end it with a clap and a shout. Another wanted to end it with "Have you hugged a tree today, Amen!"

Well, you can imagine how it ended up. The gummint, who takes tax monies from all religions and non-religious seniors as well, knew it would never be able to serve a meal in peace with everybody chiming in with their particular prayer because it sounded too much like everyone was speaking in tongues and the Pilgrim Holiness and pentacostal contingents objected because it wasn't true tongues.
