National democrats are pulling out of Hawaii's congressional special election, taking their money with them.
After spending big bucks, they're blaming local democrats for allowing what they see as a split-vote . Local democrats say they're not unhappy the national involvement is over.
You've seen the ads sponsored by the DCCC -- the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. After about three $300,000 worth, the group says it's through with Hawaii for now.
Frustrated that Colleen Hanabusa is splitting the democratic vote with ed case while both trail the republican in some polls, the DCCC said "local democrats were unable to work out their differences..." so they say they'll save the resources "for the general election in November" instead.
The head of the local democratic party told KHON2 he's "not unhappy they're butting out."
Meanwhile the GOP -- whose candidate Charles Djou has polled as the leader -- said: the national group picking sides in the first place "failed, but also brought to light additional rifts within a party already in disarray."
With big mainland money from the left on hold, big mainland money from the right is coming in -- a conservative women's group spending more than 200,000 dollars taking aim at Ed Case.
Still a lot of time to get a point across -- 12 days until ballots are due, and only about one quarter of eligible voters or 90,000 have made their choice as of Monday.

The DCCC is saving its money for November, when whoever wins has to run again ...
I cringe each time the DCCC runs their lies about Djou. That damn ad runs 30 times a day.
Djou has pretty strong support now, but come November it will be a 2 man race. There are so many brain dead dems out here, I doubt he can win.
I hope so. I haven’t lived here long enough to vote, but I definitely will in Nov.
