Barack Obama's warning against iPod, Xbox

2010-05-11 05:30:00

US President Barack Obama has criticized new forms of technology, such as the iPod and the Xbox.

The leader, while addressing students at Hampton University, Virginia, also pointed out that journalists and news outlets these days have become obsessed with superficial coverage.

"You're coming of age in a 24/7 media environment that bombards us with all kinds of content and exposes us to all kinds of arguments, some of which don't always rank all that high on the truth meter," the Telegraph quoted him as saying.

He added: "With iPods and iPads and Xboxes and PlayStations, - none of which I know how to work - information becomes a distraction, a diversion, a form of entertainment, rather than a tool of empowerment, rather than the means of emancipation.

I’m sure others have noticed the wording from the “ruling class” these days.

“Constitutional democracy” (not “republic”)

This is what the Kagan nominee said as well.

If we could just get all our information from the White House Press Agency, the world would be a much better place.

Tyrrants hate communcation between the masses. It threatens their stranglehold on the people.

Don’t kid yourselves, that is exactly what this is about.

“information becomes a distraction”

Perhaps the most stupid comment ever uttered by a sitting president.

Actually, I’m reading this as an admission that they’re not reaching enough of the youth with the mainstream media. The MSM propagates lies and propaganda for the administration, and thus they’re likely to push reading newspapers and news magazines over XBox.

As a “Nintendo kid,” I can attest that it sucked me away from reality when I was younger. As an adult, I still get lost in video games like World of WarCraft and EVE Online, but I favor the truth of the world over the lies of the garbage on ABCBSNBCCNN alphabet soup.

It pisses Obama off that kids are head down in video games and Facebook vs. watching him.

This is a new thing for America, isn’t it?

I remember when presidents used to celebrate and embrace new technology.

This turkey wants us to give up everything and return to about 300 A.D.

If George W. Bush had said the exact same things while he was president, we would have been subject to an ENDLESS stream of "progressive" pundits, analysts and leftist politicians dancing around on TV "news" shows gleefully shouting at the top of their lungs about what an ignorant, idiotic, anti-technoilogy, anti-progress Luddite he is!

There would have been a new "expert" on CNN and MSNBC every night for a month pointing out how it was strong evidence of his low intelligence and his inability, and also his unwillingness, to embrace progress and think about the future of the country.

By the way, Bill O'Reilly AGREES with the Obamessiah on this one.

I wonder how long it will be before the announcement is made that ALL information must be cleared by the Ministry of Truth before being released to the public. It will, of course, be for our own good. Mr. Obama ONLY wants to bring out the best in all of us.

The “ruling [leftist] elite” seem to be using the term “constitutional democracy” more and more lately, and nothing they do is “coincidence”.

Our founding structure is a constitutional REPUBLIC of course, as all FReepers know.

However, the term “constitutional democracy” is a reference to the “third way”, or “communitarianism”, which is a blend of socialism/communism and capitalism to fund it.

They’re trying to get the public used to the idea that this country is communitarian instead of a capitalist constitutional republic.

He is starting to see exactly what happened to Bush, and doesn't like it at all.

Bush was 10 times the President of the zero, and this phenomenon brought his approval #’s down into the 20’s, and it will bring down the zero.

I guess now there’s too much free association and communication going on out there!

He may be trying to short Apple stock. Hillary did this during her attempted coup on the medical industry. The went out and trashed the pharma industry while at the same time shorting their stocks. Or it might just be Apples turn on the chopping block. They are targeting every industry in this country except the compliant media.

Barack Obama's warning against iPod, Xbox

This from the guy who threw a tantrum because he had to give up his Blackberry soon after he was elected.

A tad bit of hypocrisy there, Barry.

You FR fools! Don’t you know that the only factual, truthful and reliable news comes from the Ministry of Truth?

All other news is lies, deception and outright rebellious illegal propaganda against “The Chosen One” and his politically correct Utopian plan for all of us proles.

As I wrote in an another thread, young people aren’t going to like this. They like their Xboxs and iPods. Obama sounds like their parents telling them to turn off the XBox and read a book or something.

I wonder what all of those young people who voted for Barry because they thought he was hip are thinking now?
