US President Barack Obama has criticized new forms of technology, such as the iPod and the Xbox.
The leader, while addressing students at Hampton University, Virginia, also pointed out that journalists and news outlets these days have become obsessed with superficial coverage.
"You're coming of age in a 24/7 media environment that bombards us with all kinds of content and exposes us to all kinds of arguments, some of which don't always rank all that high on the truth meter," the Telegraph quoted him as saying.
He added: "With iPods and iPads and Xboxes and PlayStations, - none of which I know how to work - information becomes a distraction, a diversion, a form of entertainment, rather than a tool of empowerment, rather than the means of emancipation.

Actually, I’m reading this as an admission that they’re not reaching enough of the youth with the mainstream media. The MSM propagates lies and propaganda for the administration, and thus they’re likely to push reading newspapers and news magazines over XBox.
As a “Nintendo kid,” I can attest that it sucked me away from reality when I was younger. As an adult, I still get lost in video games like World of WarCraft and EVE Online, but I favor the truth of the world over the lies of the garbage on ABCBSNBCCNN alphabet soup.
It pisses Obama off that kids are head down in video games and Facebook vs. watching him.

There would have been a new "expert" on CNN and MSNBC every night for a month pointing out how it was strong evidence of his low intelligence and his inability, and also his unwillingness, to embrace progress and think about the future of the country.

The “ruling [leftist] elite” seem to be using the term “constitutional democracy” more and more lately, and nothing they do is “coincidence”.
Our founding structure is a constitutional REPUBLIC of course, as all FReepers know.
However, the term “constitutional democracy” is a reference to the “third way”, or “communitarianism”, which is a blend of socialism/communism and capitalism to fund it.
They’re trying to get the public used to the idea that this country is communitarian instead of a capitalist constitutional republic.
Bush was 10 times the President of the zero, and this phenomenon brought his approval #’s down into the 20’s, and it will bring down the zero.

As I wrote in an another thread, young people aren’t going to like this. They like their Xboxs and iPods. Obama sounds like their parents telling them to turn off the XBox and read a book or something.
I wonder what all of those young people who voted for Barry because they thought he was hip are thinking now?
