In May of 2009, Elena Kagan, as US solicitor general, filed papers with the US Supreme Court encouraging it not to listen to arguments in a lawsuit against the Saudi Arabian government. The suit was filed by thousands of family members and victims of the 9/11 terror attacks on the US.

I don’t know how this stuff works — did Kagan do this on her own? Did she do it because Holder told her to?
I dont know but she surely didnt resign because of it
Nope. We're talking about Democrats here. They want the power, and they will do what they need to do to get ahead.
Then try the bitch for treason -- don't freaking promote her!
You know what,, i might be wrong, but i think this suit was also resisted down the line by the Bush administration. They also fought the Lockerbie families from attaching the assets of Lybia. Same again for iranian hostages and victims going after frozen Iranian assets.
Sadly, the US govt, Rep or Dem fights hard to keep deeply harmed citizens from suing foreigners.
Would that be because the US wouldn’t want to be vulnerable to suits from non-US citizens anywhere in the world?
Sen. Arlen Specter (D-PA) was extremely disappointed with Kagans actions. She wants to coddle the Saudis, he bluntly said.
It’s because such suits have implications in foreign policy, which is the purview of the Executive...
For example, If the U.S. freezes Iranian assets (public and private) to try and coerce them into not developing nuclear weapons, isn’t that policy undermined when those assets are raided by the courts to compensate people who sue Iran in U.S. Court?
If we allow that, what was the purpose of freezing the assets? Why not just confiscate them?
One person resigned from bubba’s administration early on.
Eleanor Holmes Norton’s husband. I cannot recall why.
And Abner Mikva also resigned from the Clinton white house.
>i might be wrong, but i think this suit was also resisted down the line by the Bush administration
No you are not.
Protecting the Saudi Gravy Train is something our political system takes very seriously.
IIRC, the law firm that shielded the Saudis was counted among its luminaries by one James Baker, and Jamie Gorelick.
The families of 911 were not allowed to proceed upon any avenue that highlighted the Saudis Charities links to worldwide jihad and 911. Can’t have that, y’know.
Your Father was right during Clinton's time. Same applies now. We want everyone to be saying the same thing by November. . .
In the wake of the Supreme Court's ruling on Thursday, every American should be worried when the president of the United States starts threatening the highest court in the land.
Barack Obamas Justice Department. During argument, the Obama administrations lawyer, Solicitor General Elena Kagan, made extravagant claims about the extent to which government can censor its critics, outlawing books, movies, and other methods of informing the public.
The list, ping
Those links aren’t working.
“...doesn’t anyone have a sense of honor?”
Nope. We’re talking about Democrats here. They want the power, and they will do what they need to do to get ahead.”
Please don’t buy the lie that the current Toe Tapping Republi-Con leadership is any different..
They are two sides of the same degenerate, corrupt, bent coin.
By lawful political and social means the leadership of both parties must be driven from power.
“Honor among thieves”??
doesn’t exist when we’re talking about the Demagogues
