Well, if nothing else, we now know officially just how great those tax receipts were, and yes. We were right. April's tax deficit of $83 billion was the highest April deficit on record. America is now more bankrupt than ever. Income was $245.3 billion, 8% below the total recorded last April. Spending was $328.0 billion, up 14% year-over-year. A year ago in April the deficit was $20.9 billion. And here is the data: tax receipts down 7.9% YoY, Individual Income Tax down 21.5% YoY, and more importantly, spending: Total spending up 14.2%, National defense up 17%, Medicare up 39.4%, Social Security up 4.2% and General Government up 5.6%. At least interest payments were down 9.5%.

The Treasury Department says the April deficit soared to $82.7 billion, the largest imbalance for that month on record. That was significantly higher than last year’s April deficit of $20 billion and was above the $30 billion deficit private economists had been forecasting.
The government normally runs surpluses in April as millions of taxpayers file their income tax returns.

That’a actually very true. The Socialist Dims want their VAT so they intend to spend as much as possible this summer. Massive and increasing deficits will “force” the Foreign Born President’s debt commission to regrettably recommend the VAT as the only option that will save us from impending insolvency.

People here in North Carolina are still being laid off (a friend of mine lost his engineering job last week, as an example). However, my freelancing work—most of which is based overseas—has been picking up since March.

Actually, I think it’s us that’s getting bit in the ass. As with most politicians his life goes on as though he had balanced the budget and brought 100 years of prosperity to us. OTOH, we have to work harder than ever to keep up.
And has been for several years at the least, although now they don't even try to pretend.
Believe nothing that is promulgated by the government, and half what you see with your own eyes. The Ministry of Information has come to the shores of America. Read it and weep.
