Fourteen percent of Americans say without prompting that they think Barack Obama was born in another country, rising to one in five when those with no opinion are offered that as a possibility. But for many it's not a firm belief – and some appear not to hold it against him.
Among those inclined to think Obama was born abroad, half also say that's their suspicion only, not a judgment based on solid evidence, the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll finds. And perhaps surprisingly, about a third of so-called "birthers" nonetheless approve of Obama's work in office and express a favorable opinion of him personally.

That's what surprises me about Beck. "Birther" is a rat made label used by rats to divert attention away from what really matters---Dumbo isn't a naturalized citizen, regardless.
Most of Beck's work you can find at the New Zeal blog well before it is aired on Beck so to give ALL the credit to Beck is purely being ignorant. If for once someone like Beck on FOX would give this issue the respect & time it deserves it would go viral & mainstream in all medias, but NO...can't do that. Therefore your response is nothing more then hyperbole to gain a certain reaction.
Any sensible American should be a ‘birther’ until Obama can prove that his suspicion is unfounded. Possibly all Americans are ‘birthers’ but few are interested in knowing the truth.
And government is not helping out, either.

Beck is able to chew gum and walk at the same time. One important issue does not have to cancel out another but rather can be aptly knit together to reveal and validate truth.

What is the most annoying fact about Beck is his ‘question everything with boldness’ yet he fails it at 1st glance and then he stands/sits there with pictures of the founding fathers behind him and throws egg in our faces. Yes, ya just gotta respect a guy like that. (sarc)

Good point. Maybe they are being paid in some way to ridicule birthers. If they were being bought off or threatened and afraid all they would have to do is avoid the subject. They are going a large step further and actually ridiculing us on a consistent basis.
I find it hard to believe that curious, informed or even partially informed hosts of programs on Fox News would, just so happen, all be anti birther to the point of ridiculing us. Something else must be up. What do you think it is?

The staffer said to Beck something like “You can't just wound this beast, you have to take it down.”
When Beck said this I wondered whether it had yet occurred to Beck that the “birther” claims of illegitimacy could, in the court of public opinion if not in federal court, be the best way to take down the Obama machine quickly as we may not have the luxury of waiting until 2012 to prevent permanent damage.
Now you have posted this great video in which Beck appears to be laying the groundwork for a pivot by him to explore the veracity of birther claims.
From memory Beck said something like “The Birthers have been discredited. They have that “-er” suffix. Or have they?” And then he went on.
If Beck is going to “go rogue” and explore birther issues honestly without mocking framing up front it will because Roger Ailes has now given his blessing. Maybe he read the Kenyan presidential candidate's declaration that Obama was born there.

This is so frustrating... The media continues to frame the story and miss the important points.
The birthplace doesn’t matter — not in the least. Obama was born a subject of the United Kingdom at birth. Thus, he is not a natural born citizen. He was born with dual allegiance, at the least, and may not have been able to claim US citizenship because of the laws on the books in 1961, and his mother’s age and length of residence in the state.

He and his producers/staffers have done a really good job outlining the connections between this administration and important truths regarding our government and the way it is supposed to run. It would be nice if he could just assign a couple people to do an honest investigation into the claims of various people and the lawsuits — and the evidence (or lack thereof) regarding his history.
I have a couple old friends who watch Beck fairly regularly (I don’t have cable so I don’t see the show usually). They appreciate how he’s able to break things down and expose the lies to the light. If only he attacked every story with the same gusto.
How about naming the traitors that hatched this plot and then covered everything up?

Patlin — I’m fully aware of the New Zeal blog, as well as a reader.
You seem to hold it against Beck that he collects information from other sources and gives it much greater exposure on his program. He has always credited other sources and asked for input from others.
My point, which you cannot seem to understand, is that Beck is pointedly and very effectively traveling one scary road. I don’t care if he leaves the birth issue alone. It’s unreasonable to expect one loud voice to do all the work or cover every issue. Perhaps Beck will eventually pick up on the eligibility question, maybe not. Regardless, he is doing his share, and it’s sad to see him catching criticism for that.
His program today was downright scary. If you are following what he is doing, you should know that Obama himself is not the only one we have to worry about. I hope you watched.
I am sure Gore would have been used the same way. The global warming crisis was believed in even stronger then.

I listened to so many Judges, Governors, and my own Senator say the public knew the facts before the election and they would be no part of overturning the vote of the electorate.
They were truly afraid to get involved both personally and for the reaction by the voters.
