A video of a group of young girls, some just eight-years-old, performing a racy dance routine to Beyonce's Single Ladies has caused an internet row.
The footage, filmed at America's largest urban dance competition World of Dance, shows the girls in revealing red and black lingerie outfits writhing and gyrating on stage.
And while some of the girls' parents have defended the video as 'completely normal', the routine has been deemed too raunchy for dancers of that age by shocked viewers.

I saw this garbage on the news tonight. That’s probably one of the sickest things I’ve ever seen in my life. Those are some sick puppies right there.
Parents wonder why their kids go bad.
I have a ten year old granddaughter, this is sickening. I would kick her mothers butt if she were to allow her to do something like this.
Fodder for child predators. The parents of each one of these girls, and the organizers should be ARRESTED AND JAILED for contributing to the indecency of a minor. Yes they are clothed but their attire in concert with their gyrations IS indecent as inappropriate for their age. Our society doesn’t need to INCITE pedophilia. The moms who push their toddlers into beauty pageants pisses me off too. IT’S SICK. SICK SOCIETY.
Here is a better video of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dc6u92boyw
To me, it breaks my heart. I feel these girls were USED by their instructor and dance school, and the parents are IDIOTS or worse for letting this happen.
Children should not be doing sexy shimmies like that, and they should not be wearing such outfits. It’s really appalling. These are talented little children and they should not be used as sex toys (surely pervs all over the internet are happy to have this vid), dancing along to “If you like it you shoulda put a ring on it.”
The song is 100% about sex and how Beyonce doesn’t want it without respect and love. These kids should be protected by the adults around them from ANYTHING having to do with sex.
"Completely formal" for...?
Roman Polanski
I would think this an illegal video, as in child porn? Somebody should be prosecuted for this.
It’s too bad the girls are exploited like that, I’m talking about those in the black and white pic.
The young ones in the video had some nice spin moments other than that I thought they were terrible.
Hey, it looks like a Disney kids video!
I showed this to my kids, who don’t watch TV, they were disgusted. My oldest daughter said “8 year old hooker-broads, nice!”
yeah, no thanks.
Believe me girls of the same age are learning this kind of dancing in dance schools all over this country.
It is what the kids want to learn and it what the parents want them to learn because it what they see on TV (MTV).
That is where the society at large learns what is normal today. This is also why the language of the masses has become crude and illiterate.

3) Lastly, note the tagline. We need revival. The real goods.
My daughter (12 years) commented on a commercial to me tonight. “It’s pretty funny - but it’s really inappropriate at the same time.” It was for some new sitcom, and the guy is at the doctor’s with his shirt off and the doctor is commenting on him being overweight, and saying something to the effect of “those belong to a woman” while gesturing at his chest. I can’t imagine what she would say about this video!
I saw something similar on O’Reilly a few months back. Some little girl in a Brazilian talent show did a Lady GaGa routine wearing basically what GaGa wears - i.e. very little.
In either case, it strikes me as beyond inappropriate for children that age to be dressed in such a manner. And while I like Beyonce, that routine isn’t for kids.
It’s times like this I’m glad I have a cat. The challenges that are out there for parents now boggles my mind.
Girls like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera don’t come from nowhere. Turn to a Disney or Viacom channel some time and this sort of thing is the norm.
Sad about all this is that these kids can dance....but the adults responsible put them in those suggestive outfits and suggestive dance moves.
Despite our concerns, we will see more of this in the next few years. It isn’t that they’re getting younger, it’s that the young children now consider such behavior the norm.
Until our society respects religion and proper citizenship, we won’t see a turnaround in this moral decay.
We are in the garbage generation and it extends through just about every age group.
Community standards are mocked by the Courts.
Everything is acceptable and nothing is off limits.
An occasional community will complain about the Victoria’s Secret windows and a local mall actually forced Abercrombie and Fitch to keep their obscene ads out of their store windows.
But for the most part, bad language, bad behaviour, etc. is just fine.
Weird.
Waiting for the happiness and tears of joy from ma and pa when one of these little darlings get’s their first STD or gets pregnant at 12.....
or they’re grabbed by a pedophile.
Disgusting.
‘Normal’ for Sodom and Gomorrah, I guess...
“This is also why the language of the masses has become crude and illiterate.”
******************
We are living in the Idiocracy.
And yes, everyday language among yutes has become quite crude and inarticulate. Thank the schools for managing illiteracy.
Quite a few commenting on how "Professional and talented" these kids are.
The worst one was a woman who said her 11 year old "Super Intelligent" son still sleeps with her.
Liberalism is a mental illness that affects every part of their life.
I must be getting older. My two first, immediate reactions were:
1. I gasped out loud
2. I thanked God that He gave me a son and no daughters.
oh and one more thing.
My dad is, thankfully, still around and kicking at 76 years old. And I can promise you this:
Regardless of how “grownup” I might be, whether, 20-40 years old, if I did anything approaching what those kids did in that video, wearing anything even CLOSE to what they were wearing, my dad would kick my ass. And yes, I mean he’d do that even if he’s 76 and I’m in my 40’s.
And kick my ass six ways to Sunday, btw.
:)
I bet Kanye West thinks the kid version is even better than the original.
Of course they’ll defend their actions at this point. The only other option is suicide for being so cavalier with the safety of their children.
Very poignant statement.
At a minimum, the parents should do their due diligence about dance school/academy etc they are about to enroll their girls into.
They have different standards of dress and dance. Without getting into the particulars, I have seen parents leave a studio not only because of the pressure of competition teams but how tawdry the dance became via the movement and dress.
I have then seen them gravitate to a studio that does not gravitate to the seedy. The word gets out that these studios exist and they prosper.
Yes, that’s what I was going to say.
Everyone. Take a look at Disney Channel and your MTV channel. I don’t watch them at all and I have no daughters, I only have boys, so in a way you could say that this don’t matter to me, And I don’t let them watch this crap on MTV and Disney, but it is really really really hard to keep them away from because it is everywhere. The problem runs much deeper than this crappy video. The problem is in Hollywood inside the TV studios inside the cable industry inside MTV and especially, I hear from all my friends, inside Disney. If you want to protest or write angry letters that’s the place to start.
Well I have two daughters, and they know how to dress and behave like ladies.
I watched about 5 seconds of this “thing”, and I could not stand it anymore.
I am a big fan of 70s and 80s rock, and my girls point out when lyrics are inappropriate. Has gotten me thinking about the music which I listen to, and I have changed my behavior accordingly.
Somewhere ,some freak is sitting in front of his Computer masturbating ,while these little girls dance. Maybe the Mother’s should think about that.
This is one of the reasons we dropped dance lessons for my daughter. She was in ballet at this dance school, but when it came time for the recitals...yikes! I was so embarrassed to be sitting by my dad when a group of older girls, all decked out to look like prostitutes, did a pretty raunchy dance to “Big Spender.” Yuck.
This routine is disqusting and inappropriate. That being said I am not shocked. This was just one act of the competition, I bet there were others which also crossed the line.
As a high school teacher who attended pep rallies and football games, I was uncomfortable and shocked at many of the dance performances with nary a complaint to administration who was on the field or in the stands. I am quite sure the parents are flabbergasted at the outcry.
“Adults, okay. Kids, not okay.”
And that’s the problem. Children aspire to be adults ergo they WILL imitate any “adult” behavior that they see.
I say BULL HOCKEY! They completely miss the boat. The issue is that the girls should not even be taught such performing, because of its sexual suggestion. The parents should lose their parental rights.
It makes me wonder that if this is deemed to be acceptable, then what is wrong with arresting perverts for filming young girls on gym equipment in public parks or scantilly clothed at the beach.
More and more, I’m seeing parents who are still juveniles themselves, even though they are in their 30s and 40s. This is pure projection on their part and serves as perverted, vicarious sexuality through children. It is the pimping out of what should be innocent little girls who ought to still be playing with dolls. I’ve watched this oversexualization of children develop over the past few decades.
A stage mother living through their children wouldn’t see anything wrong with this because they are NUTS.
I wonder if the Paul Mitchell company really wants to have its name associated with kiddie porn? We all ought to call them up and ask them about that.
The parents who allowed their kids to partake in this should have their unfit asses kicked.
Thoroughly disgusting.
Eh..
I doubt it. Nothing illegal here. No nudity shown and many would interpret this as a dance no different than ballet. Kids wear less clothes at a beach or swimming pool. The Supreme Court ruled in 2004 that in order for it to be “child porn,” the media in question must be of a direct sexual act, obscene, or that the child is being directly harmed or abused. You can’t prove any of that here. It’s open too much to interpretation.
Its one of those situations where the law and morality do not agree. Just because it is immoral doesnt make it illegal.
Hell yes and the parents should be horse whipped
What you said....
Now we have generations of chronologically older individuals who are no more mature than the frighteningly naive adolescent squirrel brothers in my back yard. Their mindset, (the humans of course, NOT my squirrels, lol), is totally and absolutely based upon what THEY want, and to heck with any one else, children, elders, whatever. (Interestingly enough, my squirrel boys are unerringly silly, but somehow they manage to still be totally tuned in to the presence of their elders, and do learn from them SO quickly!)
Here in the two legged world, the rest of us are supposed to just deal with it, so that the arrested development crowd can do/see whatever they want, whenever they want... Sigh...
The good old days - when there was still all manner of “adult” material available, but it was something that had to be sought out, and even more unbelievable, was that the lion’s share of entertainment, (music/movies/books/advertising), was geared to the grown-ups...
Tatt
I just saw this on O’Reilly last night, which is why I am a bit late to this thread.
The thing that struck me was that the outfits the girls were wearing were even more inappropriate than the ones the grownup ladies were wearing in the video.
Beyonce & company wore outfits that you would expect any legitimate dancer would wear. These girls were wearing hooker outfits.
