In college Elena Kagan wrote an essay lamenting Republican gains in the 1980 election and referring to candidates backed by the Moral Majority as "avengers of 'innocent life' and the B-1 bomber."
Now that Kagan stands as a nominee to join the Supreme Court, some conservatives believe the 30-year-old remark may reveal a personal animosity toward their side of the abortion rights cause.
But liberal activists also wonder about Kagan's position. They point to memos she wrote as a policy staffer in the Clinton White House urging President Clinton to take a compromise position on some late-term abortions.

She will not vote to overturn Roe vs. Wade. She will vote for homosexual marriage when that issue gets to the Supreme Court. She will be a liberal vote. Can’t believe there are questions about that.
This is a silly article. Is there any doubt where this old socialist stands on abortion? Of course not. The only thing they have to point to is the fact that she once counseled accepting the partial birth abortion ban as an electoral tactic.
No one has any doubt where she stands on anything. The LA Times isn’t in any doubt, and its silly to suppose that its readers are in any doubt.
I think conservatives have much more to worry about than do progressives.
Kinda like, “When she heads for the restrooms it gets both sides betting?”
You’re right about that!
I’m glad I didn’t have a gulp of iced tea in my mouth when I read that.
We need to stop playing this game with unborn lives. They all are allowing the babies to be kill! The Supreme Court is catching up with Stalin in numbers of deaths:

(CNN) Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito had a private meeting with the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Friday as he sought to reassure lawmakers that he would respect legal precedent on abortion rights and put his personal views aside.

WASHINGTON Supreme Court nominee John Roberts said Tuesday that the landmark 1973 ruling legalizing abortion was settled as a precedent of the court as he was immediately pressed to address the divisive issue on the second day of his confirmation hearings.
Maybe Im way off base here but why is Dick Morris being nominated for the Supreme Court? Just sayin'!
Bob Costas was my first thought.
There’s no guess work.
This is LSM spin.
The utter dishonesty from the left is so transparent.
She looks more like a young Jerry Lewis to me.
She has both men(the few who think of her that way) and women guessing as to whether she is gay or straight.
Typical MSM misdirection. They want us to think she’s not a rubber stamp for Obama on social issues. I guarantee Obama would not have nominated her if he had any doubt whatsoever. The Times surely knows this but they push this pablum anyway to fool the foolable.
This is nothing more than a media piece to throw conservatives off course. The MSM thinks, “Hmmm...Perhaps if we tell the conservatives she might not be a shoo in for the left on social issues, they’ll get their hopes up and possibly back off on fighting her nomination.” Fail.
All conservatives I know would not be fooled by this propaganda by Big Media. We aren't idiots. Why even try and put this junk out there unless the Left thinks most conservatives are as stupid as Obama's supporters.
Exactly. This is a competely lame attempt by the corrupt and activist MSM to try and sell Kagan as somehow moderate. She ain’t. She’s a militant leftist.
Any argument about Kagen not getting the votes needed for confirmation are a waste of time. The Demopcrats have enough RINO’s in their pocket for this one. Orrin hatch being one of them. Remember in November .
