U.S. Is Still Using Private Spy Ring, Despite Doubts

WASHINGTON — Top military officials have continued to rely on a secret network of private spies who have produced hundreds of reports from deep inside Afghanistan and Pakistan, according to American officials and businessmen, despite concerns among some in the military about the legality of the operation.

Earlier this year, government officials admitted that the military had sent a group of former Central Intelligence Agency officers and retired Special Operations troops into the region to collect information — some of which was used to track and kill people suspected of being militants. Many portrayed it as a rogue operation that had been hastily shut down once an investigation began.

Yeah, I saw this on Drudge before I left for church.

In the first place, the NYTimes is playing “I spy for the enemy” again.

In the second place, this answers a question I’ve been asking myself for the past year. Why on earth is Obama allowing all this terrorist-killing in Pakistan to happen, when he favors the terrorists? All he has to do is tell the CIA to lay off.

So, it seems that the Pentagon and the CIA DID lay off, but some of the commanders in the field decided to do the same thing that they did when the CIA proved incapable of finding Saddam or any of his top people. They told the CIA to stuff it and turned to their own intelligence sources.

Now they’ve been doing that again, making an end run around the CIA, the White House, and probably Gates as well.

So, Obama instructed the NY Times to break this news, most likely.

I was doing a little research yesterday when I saw the story about one of the Imams in Iran calling for the establishment of some organizational structure to hasten the return of the Mahdi. In the article, he stated that one of the group's goals was to eradicate the world of non-Shia's (or something to that effect). I knew the Sunni's and Shia's didn't get along too well so I started looking at the countries around Iran. This is what I found. Iran: Shia, Iraq: Sunni, Afghanistan: Sunni, Pakistan: Shia, Turkey: Sunni.

Here's where I'm going with this: there is a growing sentiment that Obama is a Muslim. This video seems to prove that very same thing (http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=tCAffMSWSzY#t=28). Sorry, I don't know how to make a click-able link. The outward appearance is that Obama has kept the pressure up against Pakistan with all the droid attacks but has been noticeably absent from the Iraq and Afghan theaters. Considering both Iraq and Afghanistan are predominately Sunni and Pakistan is Shia, could we make the assumption that Obama is a Sunni? Just a thought.

The NYT is slipping.

Slipping? The Slimes is at the top of its form for protecting The One from any responsibility. They're using all the liberal newspaper tricks.

1. "The U.S." instead of "president 0bama"

2. "Some", "many", "most" rather than quoting names.

3. No names of any real people, pro or con.

They're just providing the hot air to launch a trial balloon in case the regime needs further cover on the war. "It's the contractors' fault, and we don't control them".

officials say they believe that the C.I.A. is trying to scuttle the operation to protect its own turf, and that the spy agency has been embarrassed because the contractors are outperforming C.I.A. operatives.

Just as they have tried to make killing the enemy a chargeable crime, they are trying now to make it a crime to gather intel on the enemy.

They are using journalists and government investigators to identify and destroy an effective intel operation.

This is our great weakness, and the enemy knows how to exploit it. Our weakness is that we don't know how to identify the enemy when he's wearing a suit. And we allow our enemy to use our own legal structure to kill us.

CIA needs to be cleaned out with a fire-hose. Remember that a hippy kid from Marin County did what CIA couldn't do, which was to find Bin Ladin. He did it because he was willing to do what they weren't willing to do, go live in the dirt for a couple of years.

The Pentagon is looking for men who are willing to go live in the dirt and gather actual information on the enemy. CIA and the anti-American Left will do what they can to shut this down using congressional investigations, prosecutions with the discovery process, and the ever-willing front pages of the New York Times.

They did give a few names, probably the only ones they had.

"While the Pentagon declined to discuss the program, it appears that commanders in the field are in no rush to shut it down because some of the information has been highly valuable, particularly in protecting troops against enemy attacks."

It appears that at least some are interested in winning the war against islam and protecting our troops.

No doubt the mohammedan in chief will put a stop to that nonsense forthwith.

That being said the ny slimes should be tried for treason for exposing another classified program.

I have often speculated about that. Is Obama Sunni or Shiite? I think it’s unclear. I’ve been told that the Muslims in Kenya, and also those in Indonesia, are not precisely members of either group. Of course, they all make the pilgrimage to Mecca, so it wasn’t surprising that Obama kissed King Faisal’s hand.

Actually, I’m not sure if he knows himself. He had some Muslim training in Indonesia, and I think he also had some from the Black Muslims in Chicago, including his “christian” pastor who started out as a Black Muslim cleric.

Obama is malign, but he also strikes me as dumb and naive. So God knows what he thinks he knows about Islam. No question he favors it, and thinks of himself as a Muslim, but he never had a complete upbringing in it anywhere.

As he himself has joked, he is a mongrel, but he likes to think of himself as black. And as Muslim. In his books he deliberately repudiates his white connections and identifies with his drunken, abandoning father.

.

These spies must have a great track-record ... against the muzzies ...

You're right -- Zero wasn't allowed to shut it down (directly) so Rahm was instructed to leak it to the NYT ...

The bright news -- perhaps there's a Rogue Element that's actively opposing Zero's agenda -- think the guy on "24"

Film at Eleven ...
