“Ye can’t mix matter with anti-matter.”

Oh, ye surely canst! Thou needth be prepared for spectacular results.

...and darkness covered the face of the waters....Earth was essentially a water planet”without form and void”!

water is substance and any shape it takes is form. And there is yet no light. Now, why would that be important?

The only way they can account for the great improbability of a universe that supports life is if there are multiple universes. The more the merrier, in fact, for that will increase the odds of one of them being amenable to life.

They are missing the obvious. That consciousness doesn't need anything physical to support it. They haven't adequately defined "life" yet but they are trying to calculate the odds of its existence. That is bass ackwards scientific method.

Multiple universes will eventually be proven or disproven, and to me they sound like a very good idea to explain quantum randomness and the weakness of gravity.

String theory’s predictions about gravity are testable at some point, and if true then inter-universe communication and so on may be possible via gravity. It’s an amazing and awesome concept.

“Please draw for me a formless void.”

That’s the beauty of it, you can’t.

I thought that was where God sent Satan.

"The Genesis Machine (Is a revolution in science and religion underway?)"

Yes, but the CERN accelerator has nothing to do with it. "Where it's happenin'" is in biotech labs.

"Simple mistakes like this take away from the overall believability of the article."

Remember, virtually all articles of this sort are written by journalists....the second-least educated products of our colleges and universities (least educated being education majors). Do NOT expect deep accuracy from such.

“I thought that was where God sent Satan.”

It would seem from the following Scripture that Satan roams the earth:

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: (1 Peter 5:8)

Also note Job 1:6-7

One day the angels came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came with them. The LORD said to Satan, “Where have you come from?”

Satan answered the LORD, “From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it.”

I think the King James interpreters weren’t thinking of shape and form the way we so called “moderns” might. Heaven and Earth were created ...then we see that the Earth was with out “form and void or “empty”. There was water involved and darkness was upon it for the Spirit of God hovered over the waters. The Earth was a water ball, and empty of land, animals.Interpret these things as you will, but I have no disagreement with any of the Genesis account of creation. I accept it as truth and when you accept it as truth, then the “questionable” things such as how did light apear before the sun and stars were created become stepping stone questions leading to the fantastic mind of God! What would be more probable to you, the creation account or the accounts of God taking on flesh, then taking our sins upon himself and dying the death we were meant to die...then rising again? Is it a question you would dare speculate on?
