My son said to me awhile ago that if they have to fly into Iran and face a certain radar/missile system (did not name it, only referred to it obliquely) their only defense might be to pull the eject handle.
Is this what he was referring to?
One is a long range sniper rifle, the other is a sawed-off shotgun.
The big threat today is a hijacked airliner.
They also have deployed Tor M-1’s around Moscow as an intermediate measure.
BTW, they are deploying these things in St. Petersburg. Belarus is supposed to get some for Minsk, too.
Russia is only building these to confront the US and NATO.
There fore they are guarded by Pantsyr making them virtually untouchable
I am almost certain your son was speaking of the S300/400 system (their NATO reporting names are SA 10, SA 12, and SA 20). Those are the only enemy systems that would make a USAF/USN military person saythe only objective in a bad position would be to pull the eject handle. Some are calling it junk, but the US and Israeli military do NOT consider it junk one bit. When you talk to your son ask him ...I’ll bet an FR donation that he is 100% talking about the S300/400 (SA 10,12,20).
‘Answer is simple and logical.
S-300 and S-400 are lethal and sophisticated, and only way that they can be destroyed is by low-level-just over-ground attack by jets.
There fore they are guarded by Pantsyr making them virtually untouchable’
There is no 100% effective system. Do not overestimate it.
At the same time underestimateng it is dumb too.
