Risky Moves in the Military
The American Security Council Foundation ^ | May 12, 2010 | GEN. Frederick J. Kroesen

Posted on 05/17/2010 8:42:48 AM PDT by Abakumov

I am a retired soldier. My service began in 1942 and ended in 1983. I am one of the several hundred generals and admirals who signed a letter to the president asking that he not change the law concerning the military service of homosexual persons or the policy that spawned the "don't ask, don't tell" expression associated with the law. ...

"Don't ask, don't tell" did not change the law or the responsibility of unit commanders to preserve the good order and discipline prescribed by the UCMJ. A policy change might allow homosexuals to serve openly if they so desire, but changes in the law are being sought by those who seek to make legal the practices that are banned now. It is those changes that I and most experienced commanders do not want. Then the only impact of a policy change will be to deny those who now "out" themselves an easy way to obtain an early honorable discharge, a current practice that I believe accounts for a large percentage of service people who are released for homosexuality.

It’s sickening to think that people have to salute him.

Since we have an all volunteer military, while I would not mind seeing gay adults serve their country provided they could control their sexual urges and appetities just like regular soldiers must do.

Personally, I feel gays should not serve in the military mainly because of security concerns and the distinct possibility of blackmail or abuse.

There are certain areas where homosexuals should not be and among them are THE BOY SCOUTS, THE MILITARY AND THE PRIESTHOOD.

I joined the Army back in the good ol' days when they still had an outright ban on homos. Then came "don't ask, don't tell", which was bad enough. If the red carpet is rolled out for homos, it could be, IMNSHO, a straw that breaks the back of our national camel. Two busted shoulders and a busted knee aside, I still consider myself a soldier, and it pi**es me off to no end what they're doing to my Army!

General, I thank you for your remarks. It is unfortunate that gradually the degeneration of our society is bleeding over into our military.

So called progressives will eventually destroy what used to be the greatest nation the world has ever seen. I just saw that women are now to serve on submarines. In my view that is absolutely insane.

As it is now, lots of women aboard ships wind up pregnant. Any one who has been on a ship and seen the sleeping quarters knows the proximity within which crews sleep. Healthy young people of opposite sex with very active hormones inevitably wind up engaging in sexual activity.

The military has invested in the training of its members. That investment is jeopardized whenever an on duty servive person has to leave their assigned billet because of pregnancy.

This country is in grave danger. It is rotting from within. Unfortunately most people do not understand that the real enemy to America is the progressive who now wants to force the military to accept openly homosexual members.
