It was a scene Saudi women’s rights activists have dreamt of for years.
When a Saudi religious policeman sauntered about an amusement park in the eastern Saudi Arabian city of Al-Mubarraz looking for unmarried couples illegally socializing, he probably wasn’t expecting much opposition.
But when he approached a young, 20-something couple meandering through the park together, he received an unprecedented whooping.
A member of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, the Saudi religious police known locally as the Hai’a, asked the couple to confirm their identities and relationship to one another, as it is a crime in Saudi Arabia for unmarried men and women to mix.
For unknown reasons, the young man collapsed upon being questioned by the cop.
According to the Saudi daily Okaz, the woman then allegedly laid into the religious policeman, punching him repeatedly, and leaving him to be taken to the hospital with bruises across his body and face.

Going to a Catholic school doesn't make one a Catholic -- but in Islam -- being born into a Muslim family (and it's a Muslim family) makes all the kids Muslim. That's the way it works in Islam -- something that many don't know about ... :-)
Try to leave and there's a religious imperative (for any adherent) in Islam to kill you ... and all it takes is one killer out of over a billion of those crazy adherents to Islam to kill a defecter from Islam.
To paraphase one of my idols, Casey Stangle, she done splendid. These religious police goons are chosen because of their authoritarian stature and thuggery. A friend of mine who was married to an American oil company employee, was over there shopping in the bizarre. She accidentally bumped some Arab. She was wearing a burqa, and her hair appropriately covered. The guy she bumped called the religious police, and she was convinced she was going to women’s prison right then and there. An oil company executive who just happened to be in the bizarre saw what was going one, recognizing my friend by her voice—by now terrified, I’m certain. While the bumpee and the police guys were jabbering about what had happened, the executive grabbed my friend, ran from the religious police and he shoved her into an oil company limousine and jumped in after her. The driver nearly ran over people getting them out of there. The matter caused an international incident, and she was driven to the airport by the same executive and put on a plane that afternoon because they were concerned the religious police might try to kill her.

In Islam, if you are born into a Muslim family, you're a Muslim. And in Islam, if you leave Islam, you are "fair game" for the religious imperative of Islam to kill you.

Good for her, I read the whole story, to think they have cops going around arresting people for socializing, these people are absolutely sick in the head and a weak people with a weak god that he would need such foot soldiers, how lame.
