Ted Turner: Is God speaking in Gulf Coast spill?
CNN ^ | May 17th, 2010

Posted on 05/18/2010 7:56:03 AM PDT by Mr. Mojo

Sometimes referred to as “The Mouth of the South,” the CNN founder lashed out against religious believers in the past. He once dubbed Christianity a “religion for losers” and wondered aloud whether the Ash Wednesday observers around him at work were “Jesus freaks.” His marriage to Jane Fonda was rumored to become strained when she started finding religion.

And while his stance has certainly mellowed with the years - he apologized for his past comments and joined with churches in 2008 to fight malaria - his suggestion that God may have had a hand in the oil disaster that killed 11 and is threatening the Gulf Coast may take some by surprise.

“Could be,” God’s work, he told CNN’s Poppy Harlow. “He’s sending us a message.”

“I’m not a real religious person, but I’m somewhat religious. And I’m just wondering if God is telling us he doesn’t want us to drill offshore,” he said. “And right before that we had that coal mine disaster in West Virginia where we lost 29 miners,” as well as repeated mining disasters – “seems like there’s one over there every week” – in China.

“Maybe the Lord’s tired of having the mountains of West Virginia, the tops knocked off of them so they can get more coal. I think maybe we ought to just leave the coal in the ground and go with solar and wind power and geo-thermals where it’s applicable.”

Calling the United States “the biggest polluter and the biggest energy user in the world,” Turner said the country needs to take the lead in ridding itself of coal and oil dependence.

No doubt that when Turner dies, God will tell him, Well, I never knew you, either”.

Find out how much Ted has vested in teh Carbon Credits Exchange. He's a deadhead leftist who stands to profit billions when the world is forced to trade in carbon credits because of the false religion known as Man Made Global Warming and enviroidiocy.

The worse effect from scum like Turner is that the legitimate problems of poisoning our water supplies is lost in the faux screeching from scum like Ted Turner. When a witch like Jane Fonda can no longer stand this blowhard, you know it has reached demonic proportions.

That’s probably the story he wants people to believe so he can have an excuse. Sounds to tv and pr to me.

"And I’m just wondering if God is telling us he doesn’t want us to drill offshore"

Couldn't we just drop Ted Turner into the breach?

My bet is the vibrations from his mouth would cause a massive cave-in and seal the rupture.

I wonder if Turner is still leeching off the taxpayers in the form of farm subsidies.

Ted Turner : “Christianity is a religion for losers” & to employees who observed Ash Wednesday, “Jesus freaks should go work for FOX”.

I think God spoke when Steve Case took down Time Warner forcing Teddy to sell buffalo burgers.

Maybe it is time to abolish private property rights. Why don’t we just run a test on Ted’s? We could use the proceeds from the liquidation to pay for some of the green grid. A nice 1200 sq/ft condo in some urban center should be plenty for him to finish out his time.

He did speak. Genesis 12:3. Those who curse Israel are the direct recipient of His curses. Obama’s hatred of Israel will destroy this country.

Turner established his bona fides as a loud mouthed moron a long time ago-he’s just trying to outdo himself.

Apparently the only network willing to listen is CNN and the only “reporter” available (Translation: not hiding) is Poppy Harlow.

He's telling us that only arabs are qualified to deal with that kind of really smart technology. We're just Americans. We can't handle the really hard stuff.

And Mexicans. They can do it. Brazilians, and Russians too. God likes them and he gave them smart brains. But Americans should leave the really hard stuff to others.

The Ixtoc 1 spill was the largest accidental oil spill in history. In 1979 the Pemex Ixtoc #1 well blew out in the Bay of Campeche and caught fire. Owned by the Mexican government, it flowed for 9 months before brought under control.. The well leaked 3,000,000 (3 million) BARRELS.

This leak is nowhere near the Ixtoc 1.

Oh yeah, it was in the Gulf.

Suddenly, Ted believes in God?

Or he thinks he's a God who is speaking to children in terms they will understand?
