Ted Turner: Is God speaking in Gulf Coast spill?
CNN ^

Posted on 05/18/2010 10:22:57 AM PDT by Gamecock

“I’m not a real religious person, but I’m somewhat religious. And I’m just wondering if God is telling us he doesn’t want us to drill offshore,” he said. “And right before that we had that coal mine disaster in West Virginia where we lost 29 miners,” as well as repeated mining disasters – “seems like there’s one over there every week” – in China.

“Maybe the Lord’s tired of having the mountains of West Virginia, the tops knocked off of them so they can get more coal. I think maybe we ought to just leave the coal in the ground and go with solar and wind power and geo-thermals where it’s applicable.”

Ted Turner is an atheist. Is he now claiming that he IS a believer again? He turned his back to God when his father died.

Your stupid news network’s ratings are tanking. I think God is trying to tell us that leftwing bias is wrong.

He is a real deep thinker. Amazing that with such little sense, he was able to amass his fortune.

Well teddy boy, when you give up your mansion, stop flying around in your jets, stop riding in limo’s and luxury cars, and take up life in a grass hut with a hole in the ground for a toilet, then your preaching on energy and the environment might mean something.

For people like Turner God speaks when it suits his (Turner’s) purpose for Him to do so. Notice that the vast majority of offshore drilling platforms operate quite successfully but this fact is not to be taken as some sort of message from God.

LOL. And Katrina meant what about having cities on the coast? And tornadoes must mean we shouldn’t have cities anywhere it’s flat. And mountain blizzards mean we shouldn’t have them where it isn’t flat. And floods mean we shouldn’t have boats . . .
