Report: Times Square Bombing Suspect Planned Other NYC Attacks

Had he succeeded in detonating a car bomb in Times Square earlier this month, Faisal Shahzad, the suspect in the failed bombing, planned other attacks at major New York landmarks, WNYW reported Tuesday.

Citing a person close to the investigation, the television station said Shahzad planned attacks at Rockefeller Center, Grand Central Terminal and the World Financial Center. Shahzad also allegedly planned an attack against Sikorsky, a defense contractor based in Connecticut.

It's truly is an incredible stroke of luck that neither this idiot, nor the Fruit of the Loom Bomber, were successful in their attempts. The airline bomber may very well have killed a dozen or more (at best) or brought that plane down (at worst), if he'd been successful. And, while this guy didn't create a high-explosive device, he certainly could have ignited his flammables, sending debris and shards of glass for 20-30 meters, perhaps killing, and certainly injuring many in that well-traveled area.

I wonder how much lower Obama's approval rating would be had either, or both of those men been successful.

Since the person in control of the State Island ferry was a Pakistani I am wondering if the SI ferry was on the list of potential targets.

Well, Obama worshiped, supported and stayed for 17 years under Jeremiah Wright who said America deserved 9/11, so this would fall in line with his “theology”.

New York was the first target on 9/11. How is this attack different (in jihadist spirit) today than 9/11/2001?

In WWII the US tried eight German agents (two were American citizens-Burger, Haupt) and found them all guilty in a military tribunal.

These were the guys who came to the beach from U boats, to wreak havok on dams, trains, bridges and factories.

All sentenced to death by the court.

“Roosevelt commuted Burger’s sentence to life and Dasch’s to 30 years, because they had turned themselves in and provided information about the others. The others were executed on August 8, 1942.”

ie. The other American, Haupt, was executed under order of a military trial, confirmed by the Sureme Court.

The length of time from the landings on the beaches in NY and Florida, to the executions was less than 60 days.

For ancient history buffs: This happened a long, long time ago when America still had enough sense left to attempt fighting back, for survival.

America, by contrast, has been wringing its hands for over 8 years about how to handle similar matters, concerning islamic terrorists-illegal enemy combatants (who could be shot on the spot).

To date, nobody has been executed for acts of war against the US on US soil, in this phony war on terror. First the Bush administration, now the Obama administration have proved inept in this area.
