WASHINGTON Political novice Rand Paul rode support from tea party activists to a rout in Kentucky's Republican Senate primary Tuesday night, jolting the GOP establishment. Democratic Sen. Arlen Specter lost his struggle for political survival in Pennsylvania, a five-term incumbent offering experience to voters clamoring for change.
Another Democratic incumbent, Sen. Blanche Lincoln, led narrowly in early returns in her race for nomination to a third term in Arkansas, but she risked being thrown into a costly run-off.
In a fourth race with national implications, Democrat Mark Critz moved ahead of Republican Tim Burns in a contest to fill out the final few months in the term of the late Rep. John Murtha in Pennsylvania. Each political party invested nearly $1 million in that contest and said the race to succeed the longtime Democratic lawmaker was something of a bellwether for the fall.
The conservative Paul, savoring his triumph over Secretary of State Trey Grayson, told supporters: "I have a message, a message from the tea party, a message that is loud and clear and does not mince words: We have come to take our government back."

Good Riddance for all time, Arlen Specter! He’s been an ass for years.
I said it in the other thread and I’ll say it again here: good riddance to one of the most vile, lowlife, scum-sucking gutter rats ever to infect Congress.
Bye Bye, a**hole...
Now crawl as an independent Arlen, and split the vote!
dittos to that.

He could have been great, but he wasn't very good.
Hey Arlen! Don’t let the door hit you...

With 70% of the vote tallied, Sestak is leading Specter by only 6%. I’m not confident enough to call it for Joe.
I’m sorta disturbed if a Dhimm can take the arch-Dhimm Murtha’s place.
Some people are too stoopid (or evil) to be allowed to vote.
yes, i find this a bit disheartening.
I'm really looking forward to some unseemly bitter statements in the next few days.

I’m not sure if it’s more equatable to abused spouse syndrome or the Stockholm syndrome.
Damn.
You have to know the area. I’m guessing Specter got the boot because he used to be a Republican. That was Sestak’s message to the Dem voters. Sestak showed Specter being endorsed by President Bush and standing beside Sarah Palin in one ad. He’s a phoney baloney and the old people didn’t go for that. BUT they won’t go so far as to vote Republican.
Arlen walking away from cameras, and he had about two feet of toilet paper hanging from his azz. Recorded a few years ago after his brain surgery.
Damn...two wins in one night! I just may retire (again)...
The “Obama” touch is alive and well. He hugged and kissed that poor excuse of humanity, Arlen Spector when Spector turned traitor and jumped to the Democrat Party. Governor Ed “useless” Rendell says Obama loves Arlen Spector. Yes, the “Obama” touch is the kiss of death politically. Me, I can’t wait for November, 2010 to come!!! Throw all Democrat incumbents out and....some RINOS too!!! Free America from these Socialists, Facists and Communists
Now we know where the vote rigging machine went!
Poor Arlen. Who’s gonna eat the celebratory haggis that marks the beginning of Arlen’s political races?? It’s a Specter Tradition.
Toomey is going to have a tough road ahead to the senate running againg Sestak. With the media touting him and the unions supporting him Sestak will have the advantage. I get no satifaction out of Specter’s lose. I would have rather had him as Toomey’s opponent...
Sestak Knocks Out Specter

Specter concedes race.
I was actually hoping Arlen Specter would squeak through, he would have been easier to beat. Pat Toomey will now have his hands full against Sestak.
Yesssss! and Yesssss!
Made my day!!!!!!!!
YES!!!! BUH-BYE, RINO!!!! Looks like we’re clearing out a lot of the trash.
I know. Very mixed feelings on the whole thing. I wanted Arlen out and Obama’s campaign for him to fail, on the other hand Sestak is saying what the old Dems want to hear and he’s trying to play it conservative. Burns may not be strong enough to defeat Sestak.
‘Toomey’. Sorry.
“I said it in the other thread and Ill say it again here: good riddance to one of the most vile, lowlife, scum-sucking gutter rats ever to infect Congress.”
Yeah, and a Democrat is once again sitting in an even bigger scum-sucking lowlife scum’s seat in Pennsylavania. This is not a good thing.
This district went to McCain in 2008, as well. Translation: Zero headway. I can’t believe the voters put another Rat in for Murtha’s seat. It’s a sad attestation of either ignorance or stupidity.
ap shuffled the title around
now reads..
Specter loses in Pennsylvania, Paul wins in Ky.
Why in the world is everyone so excited? Clearly the GOP needed Arlen to win...better matchup.
You mean Pat Toomey, not Burns...
FU Spectre, now GTFO!
I think it’s great that Spectre the defector was defeated in his “new” party’s primary.
What an inglorious end to an undistinguished career.
And by winning, Sestek only deepens the intrigue over the illegal overture 0bama made to him about dropping out.
Well, any district that would vote for Murtha falls into the too hard to change quickly category. Cue the Ha Ha kid for Arlen, hoist upon his own petard. How’s that pres__ential support workin’ out for ya? I guess they didn’t respect you in the morning.
That was my immediate reaction.
In the heat of the battle , folks get carried away sometimes..
Sestak up by 8 ,, 86% precincts in
Are you serious? Never heard about that. If true, is there a video I could watch? I have thoroughly disliked Specter from the moment I first heard him speak.
Sorry, should have addressed my correction post to you. :) It’s there somewhere.
Yeah, I know, but it’s a democrat dominated district that’s totally addicted to federal pork, so what can you expect.
A caller from Pa called RUSH today and expressed the same sentiment...
Next... Reid from Nevada :)
What is missing at the PA State listings of the election are any totals - seems as if they’ve rolled them all together into the General Primary tallies.
As I suspected, it’s fixed!
FU Specter!
Even the libs don’t want you!
