Obama ramps up criticism of Ariz. immigration law

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama stepped up his criticism of Arizona's controversial immigration law Wednesday, calling it "misdirected" and warning that it has the potential to be applied in a discriminatory fashion.

Speaking at a joint news conference with Mexico's President Felipe Calderon, Obama called for overhauling the nation's immigration laws and said that can't be done unless Republicans support it.

The controversy over the Arizona law, which would make it a state crime to be in the country illegally, hung over Calderon's visit. Both leaders oppose the law, with Obama directing the Justice Department to review it for possible civil rights violations, and Calderon's government issuing a travel warning for Arizona, out of concern that Mexicans face an adverse political environment there.

Calderon made good on his pledge to take up the immigration issue during his meetings with Obama. He said the Arizona law criminalized migration and could encourage discrimination. He also called for the U.S. and Mexico to work together to solve the complex, politically sensitive immigration issue.

But has he read it?

Has he compared it to existing federal law?

No on both accounts.

I would ask Calderon and Obama both to name the country where foreign visitors are allowed to go about without passport and ID on their person.

Has this arrogant, racist fool even read Mexico's nasty, rabid immigration laws at all? Mexico regularly criminalizes illegal immigrants from Guatemala, rapes female illegal aliens, and robes illegals of their money every single day..and its the Mexican police themselves who do most of the raping , the robberies and the killings of illegals in Mexico. I am yet to hear this POS condemn his own police for their crimes against illegals in Mexico.

I hope you see EXACTLY what he is up to with this. (If not ask). If Republicans were smart they would tell him that he passed the pork-u-bus and Obama-care without their help so why doesnt he use reconciliation and deemed passed on this? Ask him if he is saying his party is a bunch of racists for not acting without Republican cover like he is calling Arizona.

Is Mexico and China the best place for Obama to go to talk about human rights?

...no he hasn’t read it. It goes against his “regime’s” goal. It takes away from his voter base. It extends the time he has to turn America into a 3rd world toilet. It upholds the rule of law. Therefore, there’s no reason for him, Holder or any other a$$wipe lib to read it.

The “rule of law” is antithetical to the leftist mindset.

In upholding the rule of law, you’re stifling the ability
of the elites to apply their special wisdom to each case
as it comes up.

When all of these Obambi Administration officials, including the One, say they have not read the AZ bill then they don't have to answer the next question - is it Constitutional?

They don't care if they are perceived as dumb - they are just reiterating the talking points that Obambi's handlers want the sheeple to hear.

How Malaysia Gets Rid of Indonesian Illegal Immigrants [e.g., Obummer]

"As of 2005, it is estimated by the government that there are as many as 1.2 million illegal immigrants in Malaysia, a substantial number of them hailing from Indonesia, Malaysia's closest neighbour. [2] However, a sizeable number are of Filipino, Vietnam, Nepal or South Asian origin. [3]

The government's estimate of 1.2 million illegal immigrants may be a conservative number, however. Some non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have placed the number of illegal immigrants in the state of Sabah alone in the realm of two million, comprising two-thirds of the state's population. [4] [edit]

2005 deportation

After the tsunami of 2004, the government announced plans to forcibly repatriate as many illegal immigrants as possible, with harsh punishments — including steep fines and heavy whippings — imposed on those who disobeyed or aided illegal immigrants in their efforts to remain in Malaysia. The original deadline set was February 1, 2005; by this date, 400,000 had already left voluntarily. Due to the effectiveness of their efforts, the government announced they would not launch the crackdown as planned, delaying it to an undetermined date. [3] [5] [edit]

Illegal citizenship

Although by virtue of their illegal status, illegal immigrants may not apply for Malaysian citizenship, some have attempted to procure it illegally by buying MyKads and passports on the black market. In Sabah, it was reported that 800,000 MyKads had been issued to people who eventually left the state. As Indonesians who have citizenship would be classified as Malay under Article 160 of the Constitution, it has been feared that thousands of illegal immigrants not only received privileges meant for Malaysian citizens, such as the right to vote, but also privileges meant for the Bumiputra, which include allocations of public shares, discounts on real estate, etc. [4]

It has been claimed by opposition politician Jeffrey Kitingan that there are 1.7 million illegals in Sabah, of whom 600,000 have obtained MyKads. Kitingan has accused these illegals of exercising the right to vote, and also of falsely claiming Bumiputra status.[6] There are allegations that there is some form of systematic granting of citizenship which is known as Project IC, or Project M."

Socialists and Islamists use the US Constitution and “law” to undermine the same. It is about subversion, not the rule of law.

It is a gradual revolution.

On Jan 20th 2009, anchors declared “We’re ALL socialists now” and “it’s been a velvet revolution”.

They are giddy over this turning over of the “establishment”.

Question authority didn’t mean question THEIR authority. It just meant “topple the Western establishment” of academia, religion, and government.

Open borders are about celebrating a state of anarchy.

This important effort by AZ will fail. The King Obama and his corrupt thugs will make sure that AZ cannot survive. The only thing that can prop it up is if the majority of States decide that the Constitution must be the law of the land and illegal encroachment of our borders is totally illegal and those who do must be punished. It is tough love, but we as a people cannot survive unless we realize we are at war with an invasion from Mexico.

Screw Obama and El Presidente.

We have nothing on Mexico when it comes to violating privacy or civil rights violations.

When I was down in Baja Mexico fishing we were regularly stopped by the Mexican army (armed with automatic weapons) at certain road checks. They unloaded everyone, asked us where and what we were doing and searched the vehicles and boat. They asked us where we were from, and how long we were going to be there. I'm sure they were not worried that we would stay as illegal aliens and steal Mexican jobs and government freebies.

Although it was inconvenient, we were in their country, and wanted to go fishing.

Speaking of reading the law, has anyone read California Penal Code 834b? If not, here it is.

California Penal Code 834B:
(a) Every law enforcement agency in California shall fully cooperate with the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service regarding any person who is arrested if he or she is suspected of being present in the United States in violation of federal immigration laws.
(b) With respect to any such person who is arrested, and suspected of being present in the United States in violation of federal immigration laws, every law enforcement agency shall do the following:
(1) Attempt to verify the legal status of such person as a citizen of the United States, an alien lawfully admitted as a permanent resident, an alien lawfully admitted for a temporary period of time or as an alien who is present in the United States in violation of immigration laws. The verification process may include, but shall not be limited to, questioning the person regarding his or her date and place of birth, and entry into the United States, and demanding documentation to indicate his or her legal status.
(2) Notify the person of his or her apparent status as an alien who is present in the United States in violation of federal immigration laws and inform him or her that, apart from any criminal justice proceedings, he or she must either obtain legal status or leave the United States.
(3) Notify the Attorney General of California and the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service of the apparent illegal status and provide any additional information that may be requested by any other public entity.
(c) Any legislative, administrative, or other action by a city, county, or other legally authorized local governmental entity with jurisdictional boundaries, or by a law enforcement agency, to prevent or limit the cooperation required by subdivision (a) is expressly prohibited.

So, is California also discriminating against illegal immigrants because California law agencies are also required to ask for identification of suspected illegals? Just thought I would ask.
