Someone please get a GIANT gong, hook and whatever else you might need to get this guy off the stage. Having that Senate seat in the Bennett family for most of the last 60 or so years, is long enough.

People are speculating today that Specter, who I believe still has a significant campaign war-chest, is thinking about running as an independent.

This is why some states don't allow primary loser ballot access as independents.

WTF????
This guy is what..80 years old?
And he is still talking about his “political future”?
What on earth is he smoking?
These people think they have a right to lord it over us.
Hey, Bennett, it's not your Senate seat. It’s the people of Utah's seat. They gave it to you, they have taken it away. Accept it and go spend time with your family.

Isn't there a “sore-loser law” in Pennsylvania, which is designed to prevent candidates who lose in the primaries from running in the general election?

SO Crist, Spectre, Bennett... Would McCain do it too?

The RINO Party is born.

And remember they said it was conservatives who were costing the GOP seats by running in primaries. lol.

There is in some states. I don't know if PA is one of those states.

He's 76 years old and has a gold-plated retirement plan. He can easily afford to take a round the world cruise, spend more time with his family or do whatever he wants. Why can't these people just bow out gracefully and thank the people of their state for the opportunity to serve for so many years?

It would be the classy thing to do.

Yes, I was told last night, that PA has a sore loser law, so Snarlin can’t run as an Indie.

Yes, Pennsylvania is one of those states. Snarlin’ Arlen is done after January 3, 2011. I thought he gave a rather classy speech last night, thanking the people of Pennsylvania for the opportunity to serve for so many years and promising to work hard in his remaining months.
