I know many here will slam this but many polices were wrong and apologizing for them is a sign of strength. Horrible things did happen, let’s face it.

I wish folks would stop the PC with the indians. They played the game. If it wasn't for us, they probably would have killed each other off. It's the same tribal problems of Afghanistan and other "tribal" countries.

Were we perfect?? No....but no one did more for the indians than the white man!!

Meanwhile we have put 1000s of Indians out of work with the ban on shipping cigarettes via US Mail.

Technically we came to their land. How about I invade your home to save and ‘better you.’ Stop the nonsense, the right to be left alone in their misery applies to the them too, if you want to go down their road.

Good first step.

Now, there are billions of dollars in back treaty obligations yet to be met.

The treaties are supposed to be the law of the land.

Well here is one who will slam him. I think it is disgusting to apologize for something we have no part in.

For that matter, I saw an interview with a Western author and historian Louis L’Amore, who said the Indians violated more treaties than the White man did.

I have seen so much anti White bias in the movies and all media that it is hard for me to believe most of “what everyone knows”.

For that matter, I am part Indian myself and admire some things about them but most of what we hear and read is pure nonsense.

Well that’s fine but are the Indians going to apologize for raiding our wagon trains?

Have we apologized to the Chinese Communists for our treatment of their coolies in the 19th Century and “volunteers” during the Korean war? How about the Vietnamese Communists for how rough we were on their regulars and Viet Cong during that war? Will they send a delegation to Germany and Argentina to apologize to the Nazis?

“Technically we came to their land.”

This land was unincorporated. The indians were squatters. It’s American now and has been for 230+ years. Time to get a grip and move on. And forget the apologies.

Really? Unincorporated and you decided that it had to be incorporated according to European laws or you could take it.

Do you think you had some part in all the massacres by both sides?

For that matter, if the White man had treated the Indians the way many Indians treated him, there would be no Indians today.
I keep hearing this genocide nonsense. Does any sane person not realize that if we really wanted to commit genocide on the Indians, that we easily could have eliminated them?

Mistakes were made, not a bad thing to admit that. A lot of those mistakes are still causing problems today.

Do you want to apologize to the ones who murdered entire tribes? I am talking about Indians who did that. I recall seeing a historical marker near Claremore OK. It detailed the killing of an entire tribe by another tribe.

Do we apologize to the tribe who won? If so then we are the tribe who won so we can apologize to ourselves.

The Lone Ranger and Tonto were riding across the plains one day, when Tonto suddenly cocked his ear at a passing falcoln’s cry. “Kemosabe... Apache to East!” he whispered.

The Lone Ranger looked to his faithful companion. “What do we do?”

Tonto pondered a moment. “We ride West!”

After riding a short while, Tonto again paused, searching the horizon with his eagle-sharp eyes. “Kemosabe... Apache to West!”

The Masked Man looked once again at his friend. “What should we do?”

Tonto scratched his head in thought. “We ride North!”

After a brief ride, Tonto stopped to scent the breeze. “Kemosabe... Apache to North!”

“What do we do now?” his companion asked.

Without hesitation, Tonto replied, “We ride South!”

Within minutes, Tonto reigned in his horse and dropped to the ground. Placing his ear to the earth, he listened intently. “Kemosabe... Apache to South!”

Worried, the Lone One asked him, “NOW what do we do?”

Tonto thought hard for a moment, his eyes squinting in concentration. Then his face lit up. “What do you mean “WE”, White Man?”
