Hey Pissant,

You really need to see this video of Governor Palin.

She does a great job of addressing the Amnesty issue.

PALIN: “Well, that amnesty didn’t work in the past, even under our beloved Ronald Reagan, providing amnesty for about 2 million illegal immigrants. That didn’t stop the problem, in fact I think it helped perpetuate the problem. And now we’re up to 11, 13, 16 million people who are here illegally. Let’s learn from history’s lessons and realize that amnesty doesn’t work. And we go from there. I think that talk about amnesty, talk about what needs to happen with those who are here illegally, it’s almost used as a diversion so we don’t have to talk about what are the tools that are needed to secure the border. We take care of the porous borders first, and then we can deal with the other issues...”

Oh snap! She just sad a bad thing about Reagan!!!!

Of course, we all know she's right. Reagan wasn't perfect. But he was still the best!

That position is one taken by the majority of freepers. Kinda like plugging a hole in the damn... stop that first then deal with the flooding.

Sarah learned from The Gipper’s mistake.

Not quite right here . . . he had a campaign office in NY in ‘68 and another in ‘76. Remember the co-president idea?

Then all your protestations to being objective concerning Sarah are false, and open for all to see.

Too bad, I thought much better of you.

Pissant, I have to say, I have lost a ton of respect for you. For all your crying about 'Palinistas' and your own almost obsession with touting Duncan Hunter, you've shifted to the very same level of those you revile. The fact that you can even look at this objectively is proof.

Sorry, pissant, but I don't believe you when you say you'd support her if she's the nominee. Right now, all you see in Sarah is an obstacle to the man you really want to be President. And that has seemingly blinded you to any objectivity at all.

Outside a slight bobble on the relative leniency of state vs. federal law, excellent. It’s also the first time I’ve heard anyone say that discussion about amnesty and/or other possible solutions was premature, a diversion, UNTIL the border was secure. She’s right. The rest is fun to talk about but useless until the line’s been drawn and guarded.

She could not have been plainer or more specific about amnesty. She said it doesn’t work.

What would she have to do to get you off her back...? Wait, that doesn’t sound right.

If I'm not mistaken, the amnesty deal that Reagan approved was passed as part of a much larger package, together with closing the borders and cracking down on future illegals entering, and businesses hiring.

Like everything else, the Congress failed to enact any of the other parts of the amnesty deal except giving the 3 million illegals a free pass.

Now the only thing that can possibly work is enforce existing laws (fine businesses and deport illegals) while we build a border fence and increase border patrols.

Once the border is secure, we can worry about the next step. Improving the process of allowing immigrants into the country.
