In response to the Gulf of Mexico disaster, the federal agency that oversees offshore drilling will be split into three divisions to separate its energy development, enforcement and revenue collecting functions.
The three jobs currently performed by the Minerals Management Service, which collects $13 billion in revenue every year, "are conflicting missions and must be separated," Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said today...

1) If MMS needs to be be broken up, why doesn't the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) need to be broken up, for the same reason? BLM-managed onshore leases spill more oil, into the water table, every single day of the year, than the current BP offshore blowout, but Mr. Salazar does not mention that. And BLM both leases and (supposedly) enforces safety regulations on those public lands. What's the difference, Kenny?
2) If MMS needs to be be broken up, why doesn't the US Department of Agriculture Forest Service need to be broken up, for the same reason? The Forest Service both leases & regulates properties, but Mr. Salazar does not mention that. Whats the difference, Kenny?
Mr. Salazar is a complete and utter hypocrite...
If one incompetent government agency isn’t enough, why not have three incompetent government agencies. So who get responsibility for supply fire-booms?
The bigger it gets the more incompetent it becomes, the nature of government.
Obama obscuring his massive bribery by BP to prevent proper inspection.
so the left hand doesn’t know what the right one is doing?
Look ma! I doing something! I don’t know what it is, but lets seem what happens!
“We trained hard, but it seemed that every time we were beginning
to form up into teams, we would be reorganized. I was to learn later
in life that we tend to meet any new situation by reorganizing;
and a wonderful method it can be for creating the illusion of progress
while producing confusion, inefficiency, and demoralization.”
-Charlton Ogburn (1911-1998)
That's all that Kenny is doing. I have not seen it mentioned in the media recently, but when Kenny was still a US Senator, he stated something to the effect that he didn't give a rat's @ss if gasoline hit $6 or $8 per gallon, he would still be against offshore drilling (i.e., 'screw you, US citizens').
This is just (more than predictable) pay-back time for D@mocrat Kenny Salazar. Screw every citizen in the US, by breaking up the offshore drilling agency...
That's the Department of the Interior (in particular, the Bureau of Land Management - but Kenny won't mention that ;>)...
