I can see from some of the posts here that hatred of Newt is far more important to them than the horrid statements made in this article about the tea party members and the lies this man is telling.
Nobody is better than eating their own than conservatives. Yes Newt has made some poor judgments--who hasn't? If Republicans and conservatives expect perfection from every candidate, then America is doomed to be the next UK.
This guy is claiming that truthers are part of the tea party movement. This guy is claiming that what Newt said about secular socialism is absurd. By all means, let's all ignore what these haters on the left say and attack Newt. We don't really care if Obama and his pals in the unions and the Democrat Party win.
I say if a candidate hasn't got a 100% rating from the American Conservative Union we shouldn't vote for him. It's much preferrable to have men like Obama in power than it is to allow someone like Newt to get into office. Never mind that he is one of the strongest voices supporting putting God back into our nation's government, nevermind that he is one of the loudest voices in opposition to Obama's socialist agenda. Never forgive, never forget. /sarc
America is doomed because there are too many people in search of philosophical purity and moral purity, too ready to cast the first stone. Some people here at FR really disgust me.

The MSM desperately trying to push "their" 2012 GOP Presidential Candidate.
We can not let this happen again! Newt is unelectable...too much baggage.

Conservatives have often succumbed to the devastating bane of sectarianism; it is easier, after all, to fight ones fellows than it is to battle an entrenched and powerful foe. Americans cannot afford to become their own worst enemies. In unity lies their only hope." Paraphrasing E. Kagan.
Have you been paying attention for the last three elections while we have been teaching ourselves a lesson?
Anybody still throwing around the RINO word has got to be a TROLL. or a useful idiot.

I second that post.
Newt should be the candidate to go against Obama in 2012. He’s not perfect, but he’s perfect for that task and is the guy that can assure the nomination of right-leaning Supreme Court Justices.

We can not let this happen again! Newt is unelectable...too much baggage. What is the baggage? I know about the marriage/divorce scenario and the advertisement with Pelosi RE: Climate Warming - what else is there that I'm missing?

I detest Gingrich, but the commie writer here really loaded up. Look at the prompts, just from the excerpt.
“resigned his speakership and House seat in disgrace”
“prowled the margins of electoral politics like a wolf, hungry and opportunistic”
“argues”
“That is absurd, of course” (opinion of the writer)
“Other, far more sinister conspiracy theories ”birthers,” “truthers” and worse are common currency among the tea party’s local leaders.”
**********************************************
This communist writes like he has a nasty case of hemorrhoids, and I can’t stand Newt Gingrich.

Amen! There are those on this forum hard at work, Alynski rules in hand, trying to hold conservatives to live 100% by their own rules. It’s a trick that works since we are all fallen beings. The left is evil. They don’t care about purity in their own alliances. That’s why they win.

I understand this hit piece as BS.
But, why do you detest Newt? I just don't get it.

Anybody still throwing around the RINO word has got to be a TROLL. or a useful idiot. Huh? Is there a point there? RINOs have been good for the party and the movement? We need more, not fewer, of them? Please elaborate?

Newt should be the candidate to go against Obama in 2012.With all due respect, that' absurd. Likability, like it or not, is a necessary quality for any successful candidate. When half of the people on your side, that agree with you on many things, dislike personally for being a pompous, self absorbed ass. And all the people on the other side agree with that sentiment, you have no hope of ever being president.

I just don't get it. Seriously? You consider the guy likable? It's hard to disagree with much of his positions on things. But NY 23, on thecouch with Nancy, screwing around during the Clinton impeachment while acting self righteous on the issue, as well as his obvious infatuation with his own wonderfulness, turns me off in a big way.

Huh? Is there a point there? RINOs have been good for the party and the movement? We need more, not fewer, of them? Please elaborate? The word RINO has been used by the liberals as a wedge between republicans to divide the party and drive away the more moderate members.
The party with 51% of the vote wins the election and control of the agenda.
I am saying to "holier than thou" conservatives to direct their fire at the enemy not each other.
If a republican voter seems too weak on an important issue the solution would be to educate them not discourage them from voting.
The Dems have trolls patrolling conservative sites with the intention of spreading misinformation or spreading dissension. It is important to call them out.

Anybody still throwing around the RINO word has got to be a TROLL. or a useful idiot. I detest the term "RINO". It has gone beyond its initial meaning to become a PC term to stifle debate, much as the left uses the term "racist" to quiet conservatives.
Political correctness sucks whether it is used by the left or the right.

So in your opinion then, is Senator Graham one of us, worthy of holding fire. I would rather we attack Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Boxer, Shumer, Etc., Etc.,Etc.
It's a target rich environment. If we can replace Graham in a primary with a better conservative, he deserves it.
Fire at the enemy first and worry about the weak conservatives after we have a majority.
