If Steve Poizner upsets Meg Whitmanin the GOP side of the June 8 governor's primary, he can thank Democrats.
The California Democratic Party and major labor unions have joined Poizner in attacking Whitman. The CDP is spending $1.8 million on its anti-Whitman television ad and the California Labor Federation has deployed 25,000 volunteers to campaign against Whitman.
CDP and big labor think expected Democratic nominee Jerry Brown will have an easier time beating Poizner. Indeed, Brown leads Poizner 45 percent to 32 percent, while his lead over Whitman is a narrower 42 percent to 37 percent, according to the latest poll by the Public Policy Institute of California.
Officials with the Democratic Party and with unions have not said the strategy is to help Poizner, simply stating that they want to help counter Whitman's big head start in campaign advertising. But it's no secret they would rather face Poizner than Whitman.

Given these facts, Poinzer should drop out of the race. That is, if he wasn’t a RINO POS who cared more for himself than his country or state.

During Reconstruction, in the South a particular kind of politician became prevalent in state governments. He was a "professional politician" who understood he had a limited time to get in, make his fortune, and get out, since he had no other profession.
So while in office, the politician had two ultimate goals:
1. Get re-elected. He did this by lining the right peoples' pockets at the top, while doling out trinkets to the masses at the bottom, and;
2. Pillaging the treasury to line his own pockets, and rewarding himself with generous perqs.
Two scorpions in a bottle. Boring.
The fact that Jerry Brown might be elected is a perfect indication of just how failed a failed state California really is.

And conservatives fall for this every time — Tom McClintock endorsed Poizner. And nobody can explain to them that the main goal needs to be to defeat the Democrats. Not that Poizner is some great conservative, just because he could con McClintock into endorsing him.

I don’t like ANY of the candidates for CA governor. They are all bad.
I don’t like any of them either. But we have to defeat Jerry Brown. What a disaster it would be to again have that liberal wack-job as governor.
In California it isn’t about electing Republicans over Democrats. I think California deserves a great deal more sufferring under Democrats. The big gov Republicans running are worthless in my estimation. Let them have the governorship Arnie screwed it to hell. We’d have been better with Gray Davis in office for his full term. Instead we now have a situation where a revolution in politics is occurring and California hasn’t learned a fuckin thing.
I lived in CA during his regime and since. Duekmejian and Pete Wilson did good damage control, but the slide into socialism was relentless. I am now of the opinion that the sooner the socialist state collapses, the sooner we can restore a legitimate Constitutional form of government. The California Republican party is irredeemably RINO collaborationist. and the Legislature will remain firmly under the control of the socialists. Jerry Brown presents the best opportunity to destroy the socialist state. He will do exactly as Gray Davis did and accelerate the bankruptcy with out-of-control spending. The credit rating is already lowest in the nation, and when the socialists can't borrow, it's over for them.

Rino’s Rino’s everywhere, and not a decent REAL governor candidate in sight.
Poizner wants to eliminate the 2/3 vote to raise taxes; a goal consistent with dems, got. unions, etc.
Whitman strongly opposes this change.
Well, I might leave the governors choice blank, but there are important Props, and a local measure I will be sure to vote on.
