Registered Sex Offender Speaks Out
Valley Central ^ | 5/22/10 | Erika Flores

Posted on 05/23/2010 7:58:46 AM PDT by Clint Williams

His face is plastered on the public sex offender registry.

“I’m not going to shy away from this,” said Billy Wayne Johnson.

He did time behind bars.

“I’m not going to hide from this,” said Johnson.

It all stems from claims that Billy Wayne Johnson, a registered sex offender, volunteers at Horizon Montessori Charter School in McAllen.

When the news first aired on Action 4 News, parents were concerned, and after seeing the report, Johnson contact Action 4 News.

“They should have no fears,” said Johnson.

He claims to have been wrongfully accused.

“Unfortunately, I have to carry this label around with me for the rest of my life,” he said.

He’s convicted of indecency with a child, but Johnson said what really happened is that his ex girlfriend made the story up after a falling out.

But if that’s not enough to calm fears, “At no time am I ever left alone on that campus,” he said.

Johnson said two of his children attend the charter school, and he said he was upfront with the school’s administration about his record, and the school has strict policies in place.

“I either have to be escorted by a faculty member or be in plain sight by a faculty member at all times,” said Johnson.

As for claims that he volunteers at the school, he said he gets involved with his children’s school the only way he can, working from home designing the yearbook’s front and back cover.

“I do not go to the school for that,” he said.

Johnson said he understands people’s fears, but said he’s just a man trying to live a normal life with his wife and children.

“I want them to know they’re children are safe, and I want them to know that the school, the district, the administration, including the principal are doing everything they can to ensure those children’s safety,” said Johnson.

That is terrible, it is sad that there are people in the world who will do stuff like that. It is amazing that is doesn’t happen more often. It is scary especially now with the government being filled with thugs.

He might be innocent but why take the chance...

You can never, ever, ever take a chance. That's why they should all be shot immediately upon conviction. And if a few innocent get executed in the process, well, we have lots and lots more people. Hundreds of million of them. We can afford to lose a few in order to be safe.

I think I lost a tag around here somewhere...

Wait until sending a link to FR, or mentioning the unconstitutionality of the Obama administration, or disparaging Obamacare to ANYONE under 18 is defined as ‘Child Abuse’.

“Sex offenders and wife beaters are notorious liars.”

So are vindictive women.

“If a man really wished to make amends, he wouldn’t do this.”

Amends for what? You don’t makd amends for being falsley accused. What would he do? It’s his children’s school.

Hank

Do you people read, It’s his own children’s school, and the work he does is at home. Good grief!

Damn. What did the 12 black guys threaten you with?

The laws make it like that. And the laws are intentionally made to destroy the cohesive American family in my opinion, by incentivizing divorce and behavior such as you describe.

I am being so careful in choosing my wife.

Don’t know about this guy but false accusations are a very real possibility.

I work with children as a substitute teacher. If a bunch of people got together and falsely accused me, even if the charges were dropped, my life would be over.

That’s why it is very important to keep a stock of ammo in case one needs to commit suicide.

My point is that if a man were innocent, he would avoid troubling others as a way of making amends,

So you must be a sociopath then right? You think innocent people should be making ammends? For what?

I think if innocent this guy should probably avoid schools run by a society that terribly let him down. I think the school should not let in someone around other peoples children who society to terribly let down. You never know when they might understandable snap at having their life unfairly ruined. But innocent people making ammends, if a story ever starts at A bounces to D and next quite reaches Z, your right there is the prime example.

An 18-year-old “man” can be made a sex offender for life for having sex with a 16-year-old girl.

Technically that is true. But unless there is four or more years difference in their ages most jurisdictions won't file charges.

I work in a prison. Genuine sex offenders and domestic violence abusers can often charm a snake. But their stories start at A, bounce over to D, and never quite reach Z. To a man, they claim innocence. That is how sociopaths operate.

Understood.I have no doubt that a huge percentage of those in prison...perhaps 95% plus...are guilty as charged. And I'd wager that a very substantial percentage of prisoners are,in fact, sociopaths.I also recognize that most truly guilty prisoners will proclaim their innocence from the highest mountaintops.

My point is that if a man were innocent, he would avoid troubling others as a way of making amends, keeping to himself until he rebuilt his life.

But why would a truly innocent guy have to make amends or rebuild his life? At least in terms of the crime he's alledged to have committed?

All sex offenders claim to be falsely accused. It's part of the game.

Understood

But the ultimate desire is to be in proximity to children.

Yes,I can see why a pervert would want to be around kids just as I can see why a thief might want to work at a bank. But I'll go out on a limb here and suggest that there are guys (and gals) who *aren't* perverts who derive a certain amount of joy or satisfaction from being around kids as well.

I worked with a man who looked me in the eye and told me he didn't molest his daughter. A jury found otherwise. He claimed to have been persecuted by his ex-wife, who invented the story. His defense was charm, not truth. He's in prison now.

Years ago I worked in the ER of a large Boston hospital. Our ER was the first in the city to form a "rape crisis" team. Its goals were to assist rape victims, physically and psychologically,in all possible ways *and* to collect evidence in such a way as to assist prosecutors as much as possible. The doctors and nurses involved in a particular rape case were often called into court to act as "expert witnesses".Once in a while...but not often...a nurse would come out of the room of such a patient and say something like "she's lying".And these were nurses who were *passionate* advocates for rape victims. The main point I'm trying to make is that while I understand that child molestation occurs and while I assume that the large majority of such accusations are valid my hunch is that, today,a noteworthy percentage of them are,at best, mistaken and,at worst, malicious and criminal.

I work as a counselor, and if I had violated one of my female clients, I would have been subject to numerous sanctions and lost my license. How is this guy allowed in the presence of children? Bottom line.

Not having heard any of the evidence against this guy I can't be sure if he's guilty or innocent. The only three things I know about his case are 1)child molestation *does* occur...2)most *genuine* child molesters will deny their guilt...usually to the bitter end....3)some women can,and *do*,make false accusations to get revenge...or to gain advantage in a child custody case.

Have you considered writing an article, or a book, about the abuses heaped on those whom a vengeful female accuses?

When America removed the presumption of innocence in cases where a female accuses a male of “harassment”, or other sex related “offense”, then the abuses occurred.

Turns out there was a reason American Law was predicated upon presumption of innocence.

Anything else is a short, slippery slope down into tyranny.

I think it varies from sate to state.I think some states make allowances in their statutory rape laws for cases where the girl *and* the boy are both young and both at least close to being the same age...perhaps within a year or two.

“She was out soon after - and I’ve been breathing much easier since.”

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you are now bait on a sharp hook for the rest of your life. All the female has to do is make a claim years later, and you are presumed guilty under the present laws.

Factor in a “Special Victims Division” employee needing publicity, wanting to enlarge the division, or just a nasty lesbian who hates men - and you are in the middle of a legal nightmare.

May G*d rot America’s lawyers and the “factions” and their “activists”.
