Berliners dream of return to deutschmark
UK Guardian ^ | 5-23-2010 | Kate Connolly

In the back of the Berliner Republik bar on the banks of the river Spree, Matt, Otto and Christian's eyes are fixed on a screen in front of them. The names and prices of 18 German draught beers flash up, bright green on a black background, and change every few seconds, according to who has ordered what.

“Now the Germans want their D-Mark back and it will happen. Germans even in liberal Berlin are enraged about paying for Greek unionized civil servants. “

Interesting - the thing that’s REALLY made it easy for the socialists to prevail over there has been the unification of Europe. Split it back up - and we just might see other good things fall into place (like getting back their culture).

I do not engage in “stupid and spineless” European threads as they have not elected Muslims to run (destroy) their country.

After what happened in Nov 2008 - my guess is Europe may outlast another country.

A fried once said we would miss the cold war a lot. The fall of the Soviet Union created a vacuum that Islam filled. Reagan never should have helped the muhajidean that much. He and others ignored 1200 + years of Islam trying to take over the world.

Yes and no. The Cold War was SERIOUS BUSINESS. I remember a report from Dan Rather (before he completely flipped) just after the Wall came down. He was at the Fulda Gap between West and East Germany. That was the expected invasion route for the 50,000 Soviet tanks. It scared the hell out of me. Not to mention Soviet nukes (many still around, unfortunately) that were so big that we chose not to build them - as they served no military purpose other than annihilating a large city and most areas around it. This was serious stuff - I’ll take Jihad ANY DAY over the threat posed by those weapons - particularly if they got a Stalin instead of a Gorby once they had their weapons in place.

Jihad? You do know you have a Saudi Wahnahabi agent running the United States? He is running the same playbook the Labour Party ran to destroy Englandistan. You do not he will cause irreparable harm.

Yea - I see your point. I was thinking more in terms of blowing up a few buildings, rather than 90% of the Continental US.

Russians were probably too civilized for that. We are stuck with becoming boiling frogs because the idiots have given the power over their lives and liberty to those who control TV. All 5 networks control all channels and they 100% support Hussein and Islamification.

Amazingly people here have no clue what is really going on. The rest of the public cares about NCAA ball games and beer.

Than Russians and MADD also kept Islam and N KOrea in line.

Very good question. All euro bills are valued the same, whether they are marked ‘X’ or whatever. They’re spread out all over Europe and the world anyway. (It’s not like you change your ‘X’ bills to ‘Y’ bills when crossing a border...)

There was massive fraud when the Ostmark was allowed to be converted to Deutsche Mark. This would open the doors to fraud many orders of magnitude greater. Even if the conversion was tied to citizenship. (”Hey Achmed, since you’ve got a German passport, convert these billions of euros to the new Deutsche Mark for me, will ya?”)

The only viable way I see would be a currency reform like after WW II - everyone gets a few hundred new Deutsche Mark and there you go. Back to square one. Don’t complain, please.

German anger towards the Greeks has manifested itself in cancelled holidays. "It is the only way I can voice my protest," one woman who recently pulled her booking to Corfu told the tabloid Bild.

Actually, the wrong kind of response, I think. Millions of Germans should spend their holidays in Greece, charge everything on their hotel room number - and then go back home without paying their bills!

I’m sorry to say.the future lies in India or China. The US has gone the way of Rome and London.

From the VDH piece linked above:

Very soon German workers are going to grasp that all the financial reserves they piled away the last two decades from not doing what a Spain or Italy did are essentially gone. Someone in Munich worked 40 hours a week until age 67 for someone in Athens not to — and for someone in Athens to demand that someone in Munich do so or else.
