Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, speaking at a law school forum, said that GOP opposition to the Obama program is almost at the level of sedition.
Patrick later said the phrase was a mere rhetorical flourish, but this isn't the first or the fifth time a prominent liberal politico has accused conservatives of approaching sedition in opposing Obama administration policies. See, the almost part is key, because then it isn't offensive, right?
I wonder when the governor and the rest on the left will figure out that this country's now mostly-defunct sedition laws were used to harass Thomas Jefferson and the Reds, and little else.
UPDATE: I should have said Thomas Jefferson, the Reds, and anybody Woodrow Wilson didn't like. Liberal fascism.
But the crap that the leftistas said about Bush was a-okay.
Note that they don’t mention the throngs of Democrats that are turning against him also. People are wising up and waiting for November so they can cut the cajones off this communist.
As soon as we can safely say the same about the Left, then we can all just get along.
Yet another Progressive fascist wanna be in action. Thank God for the 1st and 2nd Amendments both keep such clowns as this in check
He’s just helping to lay the groundwork for the first wave of dissident roundups. There are probably some old germans in retirement homes who have seen this sort of thing.
If you’re opposing treason, can it even be technically considered “sedition”?
People who love this country hate Obama.
Interesting how all of the opposition and urestrained hate against George Bush was ‘patriotism’. How quickly they have conveniently forgotten the last 8 years; like it never happened!
If it wasn’t funny it would be sick. Sick and funny...there is a pattern forming.... INCOMPETENCE...thats the word that comes to mind. Boston...sick and funny...”CROOKED” will be the word of the day for Tuesday.
I replied "Dissent is patriotic."
Her good mood vanished and she was instantly spittin' mad (her natural state).
If this be sedition, make the most of it!
Massachusetts?
The most miserable people on earth.
Dims see their power slipping away and they’re freaking out.
I don't use the word "almost" when I refer to these Demonrats leading the Executive and Legislative Branches as American-hating, Constitution-hating, communists.
I don't consider it "offensive" either. They are what they are.
I think Obumble’s coronation has actually done this country a world of good. By getting the sheeple of America to wake the hell up and realize that our country is being destroyed from within, that multiculturalism is a sick joke used to further the evil aim of hostile scum who are not at all shy about their plans. Why should they be? We’ve given the store away, pretty much.
Obumble might be the straw that broke the camel’s back. If so, after we take back America, we shouls thank his sorry a$$ for the wake-up call. And hopefully we’ve learned our lesson. I just hope it’s not too late.
These people are scared as hell that their monopoly on power is about to be lost and this is how they react. I suppose Churchill or someone said that if you wanted to properly judge someone’s character, give them power. I say it makes far more sense to take it away from them instead.
“...Almost Seditious...”
-
Ping me when the opposition reaches ‘nearly seditious’.
The truth just kills these bastards
It's not for lack of trying.

Obama, during his private pep talk to Democrats, ... asked, Does anybody think that the teabag, anti-government people are going to support them if they bring down health care? All it will do is confuse and dispirit Democratic voters and it will encourage the extremists. - Nov. 7, 2009
A President who mocks and taunts Americans, who incites his followers to be confrontational, is troublesome.
Hum, it seems that only a year and a half ago dissention was the highest form of patriotism. My how the times have changed.
I totally agree. It's "do or die" time.
1000%....
any vids of patrick talking out against GWB??? articles written by him???
I think Deval Patrick is almost an idiot. No...I take that back. He is an idiot. Patrick = nobama lite = FAIL
vaudine
Dear Deval Patrick,
Sincerely,
MamaTexan
Apparently fighting against sedition is now seditious. Liberals sure are big on changing the meaning of words.
All I could think of was that we are well on are way to that here.
History is repeating.
I've heard seditious or sedition from the liberals just often enough to wonder what kind of groundwork they are laying.
We're awake. We're pushing back. But, they are not finished. It would be irresponsible to believe we're out of the woods and as you said, I hope we weren't too late.
Patrick and DumBO are both treasonous!
Is sedition illegal? It has been a couple of time (1790s and 1910s) but was repealed before being challenged in court in both of those cases.
I can see issues with some criticism at times of war (the reason for the 1910s law which I would not support) but other than that it seems like the aim is to declare some critical speech (e.g. anti-Bush) freer than other critical speech (anti-Obama).
One reason for the “free speech” part of the first is to make it ok to criticize those in power.
I think things are more serious than that. The following is not my quote, but I believe it sums up how far we have fallen.
"The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the presidency. It will be easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to an electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails us. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The republic can survive a Barack Obama. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president"
“Democrats are turning against him also...”
Not the Democrats I know. They are
hard-core Democrats who would never think of voting
non-Democrat and they love when Democrats behave like the thugs that they are; it makes them think they’re “fighting” for them against the evil capitalists.
What a bunch of effing maroons. (Forgive the language.)
IMHO
Obama’s violating his oath to uphold the Constitution is not almost seditious, it is clearly treasonous. Turning the USA into a communist totalitarian states is Treason.
I think everyone has been overly patient with the Kenyan.
I thought he stunk from the first look years ago. Community organizer, my ass. He was a loser then and a more powerful loser now. I can’t wait for November to start the process of removing the slime from our Republic.
I cant wait for November to start the process of removing the slime from our Republic.
Americans need to be very vigilant: Obama and his loathsome WH staff are very calculated in their use of power. As dissent among the populace grows, they are capable of plotting staged events to boost their advantage.
If these arch-manipulators perceive there isnt measurable fear in the hearts of the people, they will create that fear to solidify their power. They know people will succumb to fear, and will relinquish their God-given liberties when they are fearful.
******
Sedition? I guess the next step is for Obama supporters to demand that anyone who criticizes Obama should be taken out and shot.
What he MEANT to say was “You want fries wit dat?”
Bump.
