HILLSBOROUGH -- Demario James Atwater pleaded guilty this afternoon to murdering, kidnapping and robbing Eve Carson, the admired 2008 UNC-Chapel Hill student body president.
The 23-year-old Durham man, dressed in a blue shirt and khaki pants, entered his plea in an Orange County Superior Court courtroom as Carson's family watched quietly in the front row.

Gang related? Was he a Crip or Blood? This student was so well liked and kind— it is like evil incarnate that they/he picked her and, as you say, what they did. So this guy can’t be sentenced to death in NC if he pleads guilty? Penalty should fit the crime.
Her father is nothing but a cowardly pussy. His reaction, and lack of action, are the reasons we have so many crimes like this in the US now. If this had happened in the 40’s or 50’s, these pieces of subhuman filth would have received the punishment they deserved, one way or the other.
Don’t you just love how the juvenile animals of the world are too young to face the death penalty?

He is a monster and should be executed immediately.
That’s what liberalism does to someone, neuters their ability to stand up against evil. I feel bad for them, their daughter was by all accounts a good person, though an aspiring future left wing political sort.
NC doesn’t give out the death penalty very often. Sucks.
