I don’t think people want excuses, they want action.
Because the elite don’t go to jail as long as they are useful.
“years and years of regulatory permissiveness”
That’s called the free market, Thenator Dodd. You might try it sometime.
Yeah, and I'll tell you what else is getting old...really old. President Bush never opening his mouth to say ONE SINGLE WORD in his own defense.
And I say this as someone who voted for the man - twice.
Your sign is reversed from the correct way of the lamestream media....Blame Bush, then select the problem.
We need to shove Al Gore’s fat ass into the leaking oil pipe.
Then we can send Dodd’s crooked ass down there for insurance.
Re #30: It was the Burning Bush, a distinct relative, who caused all these troubles.
Dodd belongs in prison.
Or on a marble slab.
Imus had him on today and nailed him as a hypocrit.
1990s : (DODD, TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER, CHINA) During the 1996 presidential election campaign, the Democratic National Committee under then-General Chairman Christopher J. Dodd (yes, that Chris Dodd) accepted large, laundered contributions from the Red Chinese and from U.S. industrialists eager to enrich themselves via technology transfers to China. That same year, the Clinton administration helpfully shifted authority to approve such transfers from the State Department, which opposed them, to the Commerce Department, which thought they were just fine. As the bipartisan Cox Report documented in 1999, Chinese spies were busy stealing secrets from federal nuclear-weapons research laboratories during the same period. The Cox Report focused on these thefts. Later, the government successfully prosecuted Loral Space and Communications Corp. and Hughes Electronics Corp. on the grounds they illegally transferred weapons technology to China. The Center for Responsive Politics reports "Loral CEO Bernard L. Schwartz was the single largest individual donor to the Democrats (during the 1996 campaign cycle). Since 1995, Schwartz and his wife Irene contributed $1,122,000 to federal campaigns, of which $1,089,750 went to Democratic candidates and party committees." ------Another skeleton in Dodd's closet Waterbury Republican-American ^ | January 28, 2007 | Editorial
NOVEMBER 2006 : (AIG FINANCIAL PRODUCTS UNIT HEAD EMAILS EMPLOYEES ASKING THEM FOR DONATIONS TO SENATOR CHRIS DODD [D-CT]) The Washington Times reported that in a November 2006 e-mail, the head of the troubled Financial Products unit told employees that Dodd was "next in line" to chair the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee, where he would "have the opportunity to set the committee's agenda on issues critical to the financial services industry."------------- Dodd Aide Dismisses Report on Donations From AIG (When it hurts just dismiss it) , fox news ^ | 3/30/2009, Monday
MARCH 2009 : (IRELAND : REPORT -- DODD AND RAT REAL ESTATE) "A holiday home in Connemara is at the centre of a growing row in America involving a prominent Democrat politician, a convicted insider trader and the former president Bill Clinton. The purchase of the home by Senator Christopher Dodd is being examined by the US Senate ethics committee after allegations that Edward Downe Jr, a businessman convicted of insider trading, acted as a middle man in the deal.
Eight years ago Dodd, who ran for the Democratic presidential nomination against Barack Obama, lobbied Clinton, the then president, to grant Downe a pardon.".... NOVEMBER 9, 2008 : (CT : REPORT : FEDS ARE INVESTIGATING COUNTRYWIDE FINANCIAL CO-FOUNDER ANGELO MOZILO'S [HANDLING OF DODD'S $800,000 SWEETHEART DEALS FROM COUNTRYWIDE?] ---- See RAT REAL ESTATE) The Nov 9, 2008 Hartford Courant reported federal agents are investigating mortgage giant Countrywide Financial's co-founder Angelo Mozilo made to Dodd. Since the Dodd story broke in June, the five-term senator has offered contradictory fragments of explanations and intentions. Dodd gallops the gamut from calling the allegations of special treatment "outrageous" to pledging repeatedly and specifically to release documents related to the $800,000 in sweetheart deals he got from Countrywide. Still claiming "there's nothing there," Dodd refuses to say whether his Senate campaign committee's payments of $60,000 last summer to a Washington law firm, which has a history of representing Democratic senators in trouble, were for his defense in the Senate ethics investigation of his dealings with Countrywide. Dodd suggested, before he fled to his third home in Ireland in August, that Countrywide was not cooperating in providing information. Dodd still claims there was nothing unusual about the $800,000 in mortgages he got from Countrywide in 2003, but records refute that, too. Documents indicate that Dodd was getting a mortgage of $276,150 on his second home in Connecticut on July 3, 2003. The amount was reduced to $275,042 and the mortgage he was refinancing was paid off. Dodd and his wife also got a home equity loan on their Connecticut property in East Haddam from Countrywide that day. But the course those loans took was very strange. ...
FACT: The Obama Adminisration APPROVED the drilling of this well!
Oh and my eyelashes hurt too! Who’s to blame? Why it’s Bush, silly! hehehehhe....
OH NO! What happened to those two? Did George Bush appear in a puff of smoke, tie them up and beat them? Oh that villain!
Well hey you know the media wouldn’t have let anyone know anyway! So why do people persist in claiming he never defended himself? A number of times that I remember him telling people why he did/didn’t do something, and the only people interested in reporting it were the few in the media who were sympathetic to him! Most the media was apathetic, if not hostile!
How did you expect most people to hear anything he had to say on his behalf, unless they watched/listened those few sources? Then if he had done it more, he would’ve looked like a cry-baby (like someone we all know). Then he would’ve looked weak! Also, would anyone expect him to get anything done if he was always sitting around, trying to defend himself?
Speaking of accepting responsibility. Check out this shameful legal action by Transocean. No wonder liberals can paint big business as evil, when they are handed acts like this on a silver platter.
GWB is the democrats’ Emmanuel Goldstein.
Bush should have defended himself while he was in office. I'll give you that.
But it is so obvious at this point that Dodd, et al, are absolute lunatics to blame Bush for this that it would be ridiculous for Bush to say a word.
Exactly , he’s a criminal and no one gives a rats ass what he says. Should be in jail and I hope when America is restored we pass new laws that will put anyone in politics in jail must easier once they break the public trust.
Put me on the Chris Christie bandwagon. A man who can defend himself, his policies and principles, and conservative principles with vigor, clarity, coherence, and strength.
How utterly REFRESHING.
President Bush never opening his mouth to say ONE SINGLE WORD in his own defense.
What’s the use? Bush haters will always be Bush haters. Leftists will always be leftists. He took that $hit for 8 years. Maybe one day he will do a book otherwise, I hope he is living in peace. And, yes, I voted for him twice too.
Unless we get rid of Chris Dodd and Barney Frank, just to name a few of the rotton ones, or the madness will go on. The Tea Party has a number of the Rino’s and really rottom Dims in their headlights, so one by one they MUST be taken out until we get back to the reality of what America was founded for, how and where we got off the track, and how we can make the big pull back and stop of socialism/communism run which is beginning to take hold in our country. We do not need to follow the European templet. It is already in the dumper. Conservatism works everytime it is tried.
Oh yes, and I also heard that it was Bush who convinced Pharoah to harden his heart...
I also found another passage (this one is from Esther’s banquet):
King Xerxes asked Queen Esther, “Who is he? Where is the man who has dared to do such a thing?”
Esther said, “The adversary and enemy is this vile Bush.”
I don’t know. But then I wasn’t talking about anyone in particular; I was saying that if he went out all the time trying to ‘defend himself’, someone would’ve been sure to say he was a crybaby, like Obama! Good grief! You sure quick-to-the-draw on knee-jerk, aren’t you?
I answered your arguments. I don’t call that knee-jerk.
