Obama: Day for 'partnership' passed By: Carol E. Lee May 26, 2010 05:12 AM EDT
SAN FRANCISCO President Barack Obama traveled to one of the most liberal enclaves in the country to deliver some of his harshest criticism yet of the Republican Party attacking the GOP on points where Democrats sense vulnerability, such as energy legislation and immigration reform.
Noting that sometimes conservative activists portray him with a Hitler moustache, Obama seemed to put to rest any notion that there could be broad-based bipartisan cooperation something he promised to try to bring to Washington during his 2008 campaign.
There are members of their base who think if somebody even smiles at me, they think, Youre a traitor. You smiled at Obama, the president said at fundraiser for Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.). The day has passed when I expected this to be a full partnership.
There is hardly any room for cooperation in the Republican Party, Obama said.
At the same time, he said he understands why the GOP is sitting on the sidelines.
Politically it hasnt been bad for them, he said an apparent reference to the Republicans expected gains in the midterm congressional elections this fall.

No, he doesn't understand. Not one iota.
This is called projection.
HE thinks it is purely political posturing by conservatives when he hands them a loaded gun with a bullet meant for our country, and they refuse. He thinks they refuse because the raw political calculus is foremost in their brain.
No doubt for some it IS, and that calculus SHOULD be somewhere in their brain.
But it is incomprehensible to him that they might refuse to cooperate BECAUSE WHAT HE IS PROPOSING IS DOOM FOR OUR COUNTRY, and that the conservatives don't want to be participants.
I think that most conservatives have figured out that this blue gummer is not president of all
american. Hopefully he is forever remembered in history so his like never again rises to the surface.
Closed event, no press even allowed. Weird.
The little that is leaked out is disturbing to say the least.
The day for partnership has passed? Is he announcing his full rise to dictatorship for the second half of his term? He doesn’t need the GOP, just 10 or so Republicans?
Warning to all those here who continue to think it is OK to put RINO’s in those republican seats....it is not OK. You either see the big ole RED FLAG now or you are in complicit denial of the reality of the situation. It simply is not OK in these times. Every fool has his price.
One term President...and on to dictatorship. I am no longer frightened of this mortal man. His agenda is all out there in plain view for those who care to see it.
Always mentioning Sarah Palin! I love it!!!
“Obama: Day for ‘partnership’ passed”
What fellowship has light with darkness or Christ with Baal?
Not used to rejection or being questioned about anything, this seems to have driven him into a tantrum.
Kudos for the Pubs this time.
Obama’s rush to help Boxer is another kiss of death. Buh, bye, Babs!
Obama is definitely losing it.
Smells like a open admission of FAIL to me.
Now if we can just convince Republicans of this.
No more “partnering” with Democrats. No more “reaching across the aisle.” Just do their best stop everything the Democrats try to do, introduce Republican bills and let them be voted down, then make a big deal over them.
Hitler mustache? WTH? I’ve not seen it.
The only “partnership” Oboze ever offered the republicans was the gay domestic kind - and Obammy wanted to pitch.
The best part of his losing it: his ego will not let him rationalize that his fall in popularity is of his own making. Great!
Keep the jabs coming. Some like Rush and Palin are definitely in his head. All they have to do is play piano with his hot buttons and he will sing out of tune.
Wait till he begins looking for who ate the strawberries in the White House Mess.
Yes, and the truth is that he’s been exacting his unilateral agenda on the nation since 11/4/08. It’s only going to get worse. By the time a large majority wake up to the fact that ALL things changed in 2008, it will be too late.
Forget about it. The RINO's will sell us out. Come November and we "over take" the House or Senate, it won't flippin' matter.
The Ohio primary gave way to a GOP RINO vs. a Democrat. The Ohio RINO, if elected will be part of Dictator 0bama's 8. This is why party politics have got to be stronger here on the bottom. The Ohio GOP has screwed the rest of the country by putting the RINO on the ticket, for supporting the RINO in the primaries...etc.
This is exactly what is happening and the chess pieces are nearly all in place!
WAKE UP AMERICA!
LOL!!! What is that cry baby going to do after November with a Republican House!!!
