descent into irrelevancy...on King's inability (much the same as his fellow CNN hosts) to compete in the ratings with Fox News and MSNBC.
At 9 p.m., the time slot King used to dominate, he's a "distant third" behind Rachel Maddow and Sean Hannity.
King now averages 725,000 viewersthat's about half the audience he had during the most recent presidential election; he was drawing 1.34 million in the first quarter of 2009.
CNN president Jonathan Klein declined to comment on King's contract, which is up for renewal next June.

People will watch a mound of dirt if its on in prime-time.
I hear they put a mirror in front of his mouth just before air time to make sure he is breathing.
King is awful now and relies too much on celeb gossip type guests instead of genuinely interesting people.
These people just don't get it. They're not called dinosaurs for nothing.
"Sheboygan ... you're on the air!"
And if those poor people watching in the common area of the nursing home could reach the TV mounted on the wall he wouldn't even have that many.

But they worked hard to put their ratings in the toilet by calling their viewers and their family members the vulgar homosexual term ‘teabaggers’, racists, angry white mobs, and having on any guest who would repeat it over and over...
They savaged the former President and Sarah Palin beyond the line in the sand. Yep they worked hard to trash their ratings.
