The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 26% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Forty-two percent (42%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -16 (see trends).
Just 28% now believe the United States is generally heading in the right direction.

Good news is he's still -16 approval.
How do we know its an actual bounce vs statistical variation?
That bounce will land flat as the oil hits more beaches and dredging approval his held up by govt beaurocracy!
Then again, he may throw $$ at FL since they voted blue in 2008.
I expect noise in the day-to-day numbers. It’s the 5- or 10-day average trend that’s the most telling.
Guess he got the bounce after HE PLUGGED THE HOLE!
Pardon me, but bounce from what??
Obama has a core constituency.
The overwhelming number of American Blacks (about 13% of the population)
Some portion of Hispanic Americans (at least 13% of the population)
Hard core Marxist Democrats (percent unknown)
Considering the above, he isn’t doing all that well.
When he decides he owns Big Oil like he owns GM, some folks will miss the added slap at Freedom and call him a hero.
What caused this bounce?
Yep! He was down there in a high-pressure SCUBA suit with a gigantic Jacques Cousteau helmet shoveling mud into that hole!
This man is an idiot. He is a puppet. He is a fool. There’s nothing about this man that indicates he could lead a pack of kittens let alone a country!
*spit* I’m SICK from him!
What caused this bounce?
? Announcing a presser where he’d take questions [MSM reports in good light]
? Announcing he would forgo his scheduled Friday off to go to the Gulf [acting like an executive, zombies fawn]
? Marginalizing the conflicts reagrding Sestak [zombies applaud]
This is a rolling average—not sure if it’s a 3-day or a 5-day. I guess Obama had a not-so-bad polling day yesterday and a really bad polling day from 4 or 5 days ago dropped out.
These things needs to be averaged out, and the reality is, the average American hates him!
Yes. The statistical variation comes from the number of marxists whose phones are cutoff due to non payment on any given day
The media will make sure of that.
for-q-clinton must be a polling expert.
Statistical noise most likely but it is quite a swing. So who knows.
Folks...keep going out of your way to make the lives of 0 supporters a living hell!
Why would you say that? Because I posted a link to Rasmussen and the news wasn’t what we wanted to hear?
He could be at -1000 and would [still] ram through his Marxist agenda...
Actually that’s the bounce that I was talking about...it was mentioned in yesterday’s thread.
Sorry I shouldn’t take for granite that people are up on all the threads.
re: oil hits more beaches and dredging approval is held up by govt bureaucracy
And then the cost of gas starts to go up as the Summer driving season arrives, the effect of shutting down drilling on 30 plus Gulf rigs and the move against the Texas refineries by his EPA take hold.
These are not the kind of things an economy that’s on the verge of collapse, or recovery if you’re a liberal, needs to have piled on it.
I swear there is just no way to avoid coming to the conclusion that this man and his people are actively working to destroy this nation! I don’t think even rank stupidity, and Lord knows there’s plenty of that in Team Zero, can explain away the things they are doing, day after day.
And the saddest part, to me anyway, is that because they are in charge of all three branches of government, not to mention the MFM, there is absolutely no one to guard the hen house. The wolves are in charge and they’re running wild throughout the farm yard.
God, literally, help us to get through what they’ve done, are doing and plan to do between now and 2012. At the risk of sounding like the Boy Who Cried Wolf, we simply MUST sound the alarm as the 2010 elections approach. It might well be our last chance to get our country back without the kind of things NO ONE wants to contemplate.
I think there will be more complaining about why they didn’t do this in the first place.
BTW: you may want to update your tag on your homepage “Individuals are smart...masses are asses”.
You aren’t a mass, but you are living up to the 2nd part of that phrase.
Anyone watching the Dow today? Down over 200. It is now far below the point it was when that “fat finger” 1000 dollar plunge happened.
Big bounce because BP has apparently succeeded in plugging up the leaking well in the Gulf of Mexico?
Looks to me like it’s up +230.
It’ll be a dead cat bounce when gas prices hit $5 a gallon or higher because of his moratorium.
You made a speculative and unsubstantiated conclusion and HerrBlucher asked you a very legitimate inquiry.
I was simply agreeing with his statement with a bit of sarcasm.
If you have any bonafide evidence of why Obama got this so-called “expected bounce”, I like to see it. Untill that time I’ll conclude it’s statistical noise.
Correct. Most likely statistical noise...otherwise known as a deadcat bounce or some other similar garbage in polls.
I posted as if people were familiar with yesterday’s thread, but I’ll be sure to dumb it down in the future for everyone that is so anal they can’t be civil in a forum.
I am seeing the same thing. I’m totally confused.
amazing how idiots can be swayed so easily.
The margin of sampling errorfor the full sample of 1,500 Likely Voters--is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence."
22-16 = 6%. So it was over by 3% one day and under by 3% the next. Unless we are in the 5% of the confidence level...which is bad juju :-)
BTW, it appears from several other postings on this thread that I’m not alone in perceiving your initial comment as being a little bit silly.
I don’t believe a word Barry says!
“...is that because they are in charge of all three branches of government, not to mention the MFM, there is absolutely no one to guard the hen house...”
Did you mean MSM?
or did you mean to type MFM?
Frankly MFM DOES express my thoughts of them perfectly!
Really like how many? BTW: I said I will dumb it down for all that can’t be civil. It’s one thing about being confused or posting a confusing post and another to be an ass about it.
You are the only one that came across as an ass, which is ironic based on your little motto on your freerepublic home page.
And what caused the bounce??????????
I am starting to really doubt Rasmussen.
Someone last evening used the MFM in place of the MSM and I couldn’t agree more! I don’t recall who it was and I shouldn’t have used it until I made the effort to look back and find out and attributed it to them. My apologies to that person!
What caused this bounce?
? Announcing a presser where hed take questions [MSM reports in good light]
? Announcing he would forego his scheduled Friday off to go to the Gulf [acting like an executive, zombies fawn]
? Marginalizing the conflicts regarding Sestak [zombies applaud]

None of the above, all Obongo said was that Its BPs fault the idiot electorate felt that was enough to get back in good graces with the Kenyon.
It’s unfortunate that you feel the need to continue to call me names. But that appears to be a personal issue on your part.
You stated that it was a bounce but gave no reason for this alleged “bounce”. Several others (myself included) say it’s statistical noise meaning one really bad day for Obama dropping off and a pretty good day taking it’s place, but purely statistical.
I am still waiting for your reasoning as to what caused this “bounce”.
I’m sorry that a modestly snarky comment seemed to hit a nerve and draw your vitriol. But there is no excuse for name calling. Grow up.
Looks to me like its up +230.
I swear I looked at it and it was down 200. Wonder if it dipped and went back up.
I take it you saw the “10 Types of Blogs Responses” thread?
No, I didn’t. Is it something on FR? In any case, could you direct me to it? Thanks!
I think that his announcement of sending troops to the border fooled some independent voters who were mad about the Calderon fiasco and helped his polls a bit.
