Obama: First U.S. President to hold Press Conference without the American Flags Present.

Posted on 05/28/2010 2:30:07 AM PDT by Retired Intelligence Officer

Did anybody notice at President Obama's Press Conference on the Deep Water Horizon disaster than something was missing in the background? I noticed something didn't look right and then it hit me. The American Flags was missing behind. Why? Behind him was just yellow curtains, and a couple of gold columns with chandeliers.

I went and researched and looked at all photos of many press conferences (not press briefings) of past presidents as far as I could go and low and behold the American Flags stood proudly behind the President or off to the side. What was the reason for this? This was Obama's first formal press conference since July of 09 which at that conference were U.S. Flags present. I am pretty sure this time that they had plenty of time to plan this and get it right?

So, maybe there was another motive for the flags absence. We know Obama (or his handlers) carefully choreograph his image, his appearances... It's why he's so teleprompter-dependent. Surely he and his advisers know that flag issues have been a lightning rod -- even before he was elected. I think this was deliberate. Could it be that Obama really is ashamed of America? Could it be that he thinks he is the citizen of the world which has no flag? Ladies and gentlemen this is very disturbing coming from the office of the Presidency. This is not normal to not have the symbol of the United States and its government in the east room of the White House and it is not very Presidential either. Many patriotic brave men and women have died under the stars and stripes called old glory. This fiasco coupled with the President skipping the laying of the Wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington Cemetary this Memorial Day speaks volumes of the man (or Usurper) that sits in the Oval Office. What say you?

I think this was deliberate. Could it be that Obama really is ashamed of America?

We all know he hates America, the country, and more than half of the American people (the regular folks). But this might be more job related.

If he hates the country and has finally realized that he can't transform the country into Indonesia or Venezuala, I am sure that he must now realize that he REALLY hates his job.

And those flags are not just representative of the country...they are symbols of his job.

I suggest it is slowly sinking into that extremely thick skull of his that the real job of President requires him to be the number one servant/slave to the very people he hates so d@mn much.

He is the ultimate "Uncle Tom"!!!

Delicious irony!

No, but one appeared at the podium behind a teleprompter and “promptly” made a hash of answering the reporters’ questions.

Well now, this is a very remarkable observation. I doubt I would have noticed even if I had watched this painful performance, Thursday.

This was no accident, or in the unlikely event that it was, then it shows what happens when cronies rather than professionals serve in protocol positions.

Was it deliberate, the most likely possibility? Then what was the message, and for whom? My immediate thoughts are that this may have been a message to a set of foreign observers, of the diplomatic kind, meant to separate the speaker from his message.

A most remarkable thing, indeed, in any case.

Supposing that this was a deliberate signal, I'd be interested in other's immediate thoughts on what it was meant to communicate and to whom?

For example, did the anti-president think he was going to get questions about his endorsement of the remarks made by Calderon?

"Fascinating, Captain..."

Thanks. Thanks a lot for this. I don’t watch him anymore if I can avoid it. At all costs. I’ll listen to a few of his words but am done with him after that. What he, his Apollo cronies, the Soros-funded institutes, Pelosi, Reid, Axelrod, Emanuel, Sunstein, and, now, perhaps, SCOTUS with Kagan, are doing to this country is something I am truly glad my forebears are not here to see. All that blood spilled for us, for me to live free. All that work and sacrifice. All that invention and exuberance. What 0bama—who is responsible—are doing is monstrous. We need Ronald Reagan, George Washington and John Adams, and we need them now.

I believe his staff is as incompetent as he is, but you notice they didnt forget the teleprompters.

If it was deliberate it was a more than stupid mistake. Write Fox news and let them tell it.

Seriously, teleprompters at a press conference? Is this assclown capable of a single independent thought?

You are spot on in your comment/observation — personally I was outraged!

It was no accident. He used it in the bathroom to clean himself after a rather messy poop. You will find it in the trash can because it would not go down the toilet.

"As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides". "There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression.." "The anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all that sort of thing."

Obama continued: "The National Anthem should be 'swapped' for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like To Teach the World To Sing'. If that were our anthem, then, I might salute it. In my opinion, we should consider reinventing our National Anthem as well as 'redesign' our Flag to better offer our enemies hope and love.

It's my intention, if elected, to disarm America to the level of acceptance to our Middle East Brethren. If we, as a Nation of waring people, conduct ourselves like the nations of Islam, where peace prevails - - - perhaps a state or period of mutual accord could exist between our governments." “When I become President, I will seek a pact of agreement to end hostilities between those who have been at war or in a state of enmity, and a freedom from disquieting oppressive thoughts.

We as a Nation, have placed upon the nations of Islam, an unfair injustice which is WHY my wife disrespects the Flag and she and I have attended several flag burning ceremonies in the past". "Of course now, I have found myself about to become the President of the United States and I have put my hatred aside. I will use my power to bring CHANGE to this Nation, and offer the people a new path..My wife and I look forward to becoming our Country's First black Family. Indeed, CHANGE is about to overwhelm the United States of America "

Barack Hussein Obama, 07 Sept. 2008

Where is the other angle to that picture? Reagan always had the flag to his right when facing reporter in front of the blue curtains. I am confident the flag would be there.

Are those accurate quotes? If so, unbelievable and makes the marxist media even more despicable for not reporting them!

My guess is that his staff hastily threw the press conference together, and being the good Marxists they are, completely forgot about the flag.
