Rep. Charlie Melancon (D-La.) became emotional during a hearing Thursday on the BP oil spill, forcing him to cut off remarks before the panel.
The congressman shed a tear, became choked up and eventually stopped his remarks. He left the committee room after he could not continue. Rep. G.K. Butterfield (D-N.C.) comforted Melancon before he departed the room.

He’s only playing the Drama Queen Card now because the Blame Bush Card has been used up.

The end of the article tells all one needs to know about why the fake tears. I agree - - he must be Serpent Head's half-cousin: "weah dyin' down heah." The calculus of politics is the easiest to understand, just follow the money to the next election.

Apparently Melancon took drama lessons from former Gov. Kathleen Blanco.

I don’t think he was faking either. I was about to cry just watching him. It IS an unmitigated disaster...unmitigated by an incompetent President, who has nothing but icewater in his veins and has dropped the ball on his responsibilities under the law.

I don't like Shrimp, besides Jindal is a Republican, I wasn't about to help him. Top it off with now being able to halt all new drilling and rendering Sarah's (drill baby drill) message mute, I gotta admit, this came out as a huge win for me !

A perfect pic and believable ‘thought’ quote. The situation in the Gulf is becoming more and more dire and all Obama can think about is his own ‘suffering’ and his political policy ploys. It’s beyond sickening. It’s a dereliction of duty. The very idea that the press is gearing up to give him cover on his complicity and incompetence in this disasterous spill today during his photo op should serve to finally wake up those Americans that are still asleep.

It is the easiest thing in the world to do, to look at someone who is emotionally distressed by such a calamity and say "ahhh they're fakin' it" because we saw such antics from Emperor Billigula (I'm thinking of his episode of laughing and joking and then turning on the tears after the death of Ron Brown), and it IS easy for us to become jaded.
Do I mistrust the 'Rats? You better believe it. But when it comes to events like this (with Congressman Melancon), I'm willing to cut the guy some slack because he had little if anything to gain by 'faking' his being upset, we know already that Louisiana is facing disaster due to the incompetence of the 0bama regime, and those poor people need our prayers, so does the good Congressman, and that's what I've been doing, and I hope others might join me.
I'll be praying for something else too, which is why my usual Sunday tagline is already in service. ;)

Melan-CON. Just another DIM-witted faker clamoring for attention. It was a disgusting display or ersatz emotion.

I refuse to cut ANY Rat some slack the way they pushed that so-called Healthcare reform through and the way they spend our money we don't have.
