Sarah Palin, plays photojournalist on Facebook. Salacious new details have emerged about writer Joe McGinnisss recent move to Sarah Palin Lane, located in snowy Wasilla, Alaska. McGinnisss son Joe Jr. told Politicos Ben Smith that Joe Sr. had been courted by Palins neighbor in a classic case (?) of revenge-by-rental. A woman was renting her house and sought out the author because the Palins had crossed her (owed her money for renovations she had done at their request and never paid her for). So she knew McGinniss was writing the book and found him and offered him the house. Bam!

There are always 2 sides to every story. Guess we now know where all the spies were during the election.
Pray for America
I’ll await Madam President’s version...
” One thing is for sure. When she makes an enemy, they really are an enemy. “
It would appear so.
A woman was sought out by the author because he wants fame and money. fixed.
Look, I’d take with a very large grain of salt any claim that the Palin family hadn’t paid their bill for services rendered. There is recourse for that sort of thing, and this person didn’t file charges.
Any journalist that would rent a home right next door to their political target, is one devious POS IMO.
I may disagree with Palin on certain matters, but these disgusting attempts to slander her, verge on the criminal.
Can you imagine what would have been the Liberal media take on some Conservative journalist buying the home next door to the Clintons, to find dirt on them?
We have (on another thread) a woman suing an airline because she was asleep when the plane landed and the crew never woke her before locking up the aircraft. She didn’t get off until 3 hours later, and never realized the doors opened from inside, or that she could use her cell phone for other than checking the time.
Yet here, in this age of personal lawsuits, we have a neighbor who decides to rent her house to a Palin stalker instead of going to court to recoup what she’s owed? This doesn’t pass the smell test...
This doesn't make sense. The more likely explanation is that there is a coordinated attempt to spy on the Palins and get damaging information. The woman and the author(who has not been successful lately) are probably paid participants in a larger effort.
” Look, Id take with a very large grain of salt any claim that the Palin family hadnt paid their bill for services rendered. There is recourse for that sort of thing, and this person didnt file charges.”
The whole explanation smells ;-)
Fails the smell test right there. No details on the renovations, the amount of money involved or anything else other than than the word of a confirmed stalker. Great journalism, eh?
>> “A woman was renting her house ... because the Palins had crossed her (owed her money ...”.
Who’s being quoted here? And is the debt indisputable, or simply alleged?
This story has sure been making the rounds. Looks like Baby Joe has been sending out flash email to all the venomous bloggers.
I support Palin and am no fan of Joe McGinniss. There is a minor thing that I have been wondering about here. Palin made a comment that the neighbor’s deck overlooks her children’s play area and her kitchen window. Unless this is something new, why is this an issue now? If this was the state of affairs before McGinniss rented the place, it will be the state of affairs after he leaves. She put up a fence, but why didn’t she put one up before he rented the place?
You're right - doesn't pass the smell test...
I see this explanation posted in some places, but I bet its a fake. WHO IS THIS LAND OWNER?! Why haven’t anyone bothered to ask this person directly. Instead we get this from third party
“I still think the Palins should rent their house to Ted Nugent.... “
WHAT an excellent idea!!!!
AND Ted could play his guitar ALL NIGHT! LOUD!
because he only just moved in recently?
I will compare Palin to LBJ in a certain way.
She loves where she is from. She works hard. And if you cross her, you are on your way out. If you are on her bad side, you are screwed big time. There is a reason the Republican establishment in Alaska hates her.
If you have good neighbors, why put up a fence?? If circumstances change, then you do what you have to do.
If Palin really owed her money, where was the suit in 2008?
Wasilla was crawling with operatives for the left.
Great one!
I don’t buy that she owes them anything.
Agreed. This explanation doesn’t sound right.
One way to find out, does anyone know the name of the landlord and contact information? It seems that would be only fair given the circumstances.
Agreed...
Agreed...
why does this matter?
I didn’t read the whole thing, but that ABC incident sounds hilarious.
I realize that she put up the fence because he was moving in. Now perhaps she didn’t understand that her neighbor had a grudge against her, but how could she know for certain what kind of people her neighbor had as guests? And if privacy was an issue, it just makes sense that she would have put up the fence a long time ago.
It doesn’t matter to me. It matters to Palin because she made a public issue of it.
They didn’t put up a fence last year because they rented the house themselves. She was on Sean Hannity’s radio show Wednesday afternoon and said they wanted to rent it this summer, too, and had been trying to contact the neighbor but she never returned their phone calls.
I love the idea of renting to Ted Nugent. I hope maybe the Palins or someone like-minded does eventually buy the place next door. That house is pretty close to theirs, and this whole thing is turning into a circus.
Thank you. That clarifies a lot for me now.
sounds more to me like this neighbor was trying to extort money from Sarah and when she didn’t get it she rented to the biggest jerk she could find, all for money.
the funny thing is the abc reporter was trying to help that liberal writer. They were actually allies.
Well, it does sound like something was up there. Perhaps she was unhappy about the attention the press was paying to the neighborhood. And then again she may have been a Democrat unhappy Palin was receiving national attention too.
I don’t think we need to dig too deep to understand her motives, and that they were evidence of an ugly person.
That’s a good idea!
Good fences MAKE good neighbors.
She said that she been trying to contact the home owner to either rent or buy the property for some time now. And privacy only became an issue because the new renter is a stalker. Someone who moved all the way from lower 48, just to live next to you, to write a book on you. What are you surpose to think? The ONLY reason why he wanted to live next to her is to SPY. Theres NO other reason
Plus she said words to the effect that Arizona is looking good.
Capital suggestion!!!! Wouldn’t that be a hoot?
Because she didn't consider the neighbor a stalker?
And shoot his guns ALL DAY! EVEN LOUDER THAN HIS GUITAR!
I can see the headlines now. "Journalist Commits Suicide by Shooting Self Six Times in Back."
You know, down here in California, if somebody hires you to work on their house and they don’t pay you, you can sue them or file criminal charges. Can they do that in Alaska?
(Yes, I’m being a big smartass.)
okay--i get where you're coming from...
I agree with you.
I had a lenghty argument with pretty much everybody about this on tuesday morning when Palin first made the facebook post.
My thinking at the time was that Palin should’ve proactively done something, anything, to prevent any potential damage from that property.
I thought that money to the neighbor could have fixed the problem. It turned out that many of the things that I suggested the Palins had already done. Apparently Palin did rent the house last year.
But, boy, try to suggest that anything that Palin did or did not do was other than the perfect response and you can expect an attack from her supporters. I’m a Palin supporter, but in this case I thought that she did a less than stellar job of anticipating potential danger from that wild-card neighbor property. Many of her supporters do not think that Palin should have to anticipate problems, to have to foresee anything. McGinniss is evil and Palin is good and that’s all there is to that.
But it turns out that Palin has tried to solve the problem with the wild card property, by starting the process of building a house that wouldn’t be effected by potential prying neigbors, by renting the wild-card property, and other things.
But most of her supporters thought I was an idiot for suggesting simple solutions like 1) move 2) buy neighbors house 3) rent neigbors house. Palin, potentially the next President, should be able to control her evironment, and should be able to keep someone like McGinness from peering into her house. And legal action isn’t the only means of doing that. Talk to neighbors. Use $.
I feel much better about Palin knowing that she did in fact see the potential problem before it arose and took steps to guard against it. It was right of me to expect Palin to have seen the potential problem, and wrong of my critics to not expect her to see it.
YES! ...but as a practice venue for his touring band rather than a home.
Exactly. Or.., journalist found decapitated in upstairs bathroom, head downstairs in the kitchen. A suicide note written in blood on the outside of the front door.
Ruled a suicide by special Arkancide Task Force investigators.
