MAHWAH, N.J. (CBS) ― Three small children were taken on the frightening ride of their young lives.
Police in New Jersey pulled over a Mahwah mother who was swerving on the road, allegedly driving drunk with a blood-alcohol level of 0.39.
The 36-year-old was arrested on DWI charges and endangering minors.
The allegations are shocking. Georgette Massi was arrested on DWI charges and endangering minors. Massi is charged with driving drunk with two of her own children in the car, ages 1 and 6, and a friend's child, age 6.
"It's scary. I feel relieved right now 'cause she's getting the help she needs and the kids are safe," said Frank Massi, the accused's husband.
Massi's husband told CBS 2 HD he believes his wife's problem stemmed from postpartum depression.
"I know she drank. I didn't know she had this sort of problem. She hid it well. When I am working I have no control," Frank Massi said.

“Overdose becomes possible when blood alcohol levels (BALs) reaches .28, with 50% of people dying at BALs of .40. In terms of number of drinks, 95% of people will be at risk for overdose after consuming 21 standard drinks in 6 or fewer hours.”
This guy was obviously NOT a member of my fraternity.
That is a lot of booze. This woman’s tolerance level must be extremely high. I’m glad nobody got hurt.
The headline was promising.
“Massi’s husband told CBS 2 HD he believes his wife’s problem stemmed from postpartum depression.”

The female Race Card.
People don't drink too much because of postpartum depression, or because they were beaten as a child, or because their wife won't 69 with them. They drink because they are alcoholics.
It's a disease, just like diabetes or Crohn's.
". . . driving drunk with two of her own children in the car . . ."Happens thousands of times everyday. The only thing unusual is the blood alcohol level and that she got caught.
Funny. The Navy won't let you fly with a 3.1, but they let you DRIVE...
What would for example an entire bottle of wine, say,
13% alcohol content, with the standard bottle size ,(750 ML)
do to one’s blood. How would it read?
Oh! It’s .39! Point 39! Didn’t see that decimal point until I put on my glasses. I was thinkin’ WTH?
In a row?!
When interviewed by the cop, she probably talked just like Babwah Wahwah.
you gotta love how they say “allegedly driving drunk with a blood alcohol level of 0.39.” Allegedly ???
I hope she gets help and can beat the alcoholism. Those kids need a mom. As to the friend’s child .. not so sure the friendship would survive something like endangering the child(ren).
Not really, well maybe if you'd been a "teetotaler" prior to a indulging in a massive binge. Then you'd either vomit till you had "dry heaves" or likely die from alcohol poisoning.
If however, you had been a regular drinker working slowly up to a liter+ a day, you'd most likely have a six hour hole in you memory. To a casual glance you might even pass for sober but people who were close to you would notice that you were actually drunk but they would never guess you were 4.0 plastered.
Being a drunk over time allows you to weather a lethal dose, although in the end the long term effects will still kill you slowly.
I know these things because I blew a 3.98 BAL some seven years ago. I've been sober since.

PS FYI That was a liter and a half of 86 proof vodka and a pint of 180 proof Everclear, it seemed like a good idea at the time.
So did I. LOL
Bad headline.
4 -5 glasses in a 750ml (regular size) bottle, so it appears an average person drinking one 750 ml bottle of wine would have about a 0.067 BAL. So this lady would have to drink about 5 to 6 bottle of wine. But this is just a guess.
Wow, I didn't see the period before the 39 in the title.
That would be around 0.08 to 0.12 or thereabouts. It would definitely get you a DWI. There are allot of variables as it depends on the time involved with the drinking, chug the 750 and you'll be smashed, sip it over an afternoon and you might just feel a little tipsy. It also depends on if you have been eating or not and also what you've been eating (butter and vegetable oils coat the stomach walls and slow down the rate of absorption). It also depends on how large a person (mass) you are. The more you weigh the more tissue you have to store the vitamin 'whee' in.
