Romanoff mum on possible Obama job offer

DENVER - Colorado U.S. Senate candidate Andrew Romanoff is being dragged into the national political controversy du jour, whether he likes it or not.
As the White House Friday confirmed that it enlisted former President Bill Clinton to dangle the possibility of an administration job in an effort to get Pennsylvania Rep. Joe Sestak to drop his primary challenge to the incumbent, Sen. Arlen Specter, Colorado Republicans continued to call on Romanoff to come clean about conversations he may have had with the Obama administration about a possible job prior to the launch of his campaign last fall.
Romanoff declined to discuss the matter on Friday, despite mounting pressure from state GOP chair Dick Wadhams.
"It would be very easy for him to say, 'No, I was not offered a job'," Wadhams said. "But he hasn't said that. His non-response, to me, is a very clear response there's something there."
Wadhams' counterpart, state Democratic Party Chair Pat Waak, sees it differently.
"He's not saying anything because there's nothing to say," Waak said.
But Republicans see the Obama administration's behind-the-scenes maneuvering running counter to the president's promise of running a different, more transparent administration. Furthermore, some think the White House's actions may have violated some laws, with Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), demanding a Justice Department investigation into the alleged offers to Sestak.

He was always going to be a disaster as a president. But he could have gotten off OK in the sense that Woodrow Wilson and FDR did. But in addition to everything else, he is just too damn stupid. Even his eunuchs in the press have seen it now.
True enough, but getting Bill Clinton to fabricate whoppers for you to save your presidency, well, talk about amateur night...
