When I said cap off two at a timer....I didn’t mean cap off, I meant: connect a discharge pipe with or without a pump to a capture point...

The first thing that was tried seemed to be the best idea. It was some sort of dome that would allow recovery of the oil or capping the flow until a relief well could be drilled. But it had ice crystals form which clogged everything up so the idea was scrapped.
Any way to put heating coils in it that would keep ice from forming?

Funny.
Since I first heard how a BOP works I’ve been amazed it didn’t have a spring return to a failed closed position. Why the hydraulic system was blown up, the valve would not work. That’s HAZOP step 1.

I like that. There are likely lots of things that would expand if injected into the pipe.
