WASILLA, Alaska (AP) - A writer working on a book about former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says he moved to her hometown to talk to her longtime acquaintances, not to spy on the family.

Joe McGinniss said Tuesday on NBC's "Today" show that the price was right on the house next door to the Palins. He says he needs to be in Wasilla to do his work.

Palin posted on Facebook last week that she wondered what McGinniss would gather "while overlooking Piper's bedroom, my little garden, and the family's swimming hole?"

He looks like the type that could be a toucher. I hope Todd keeps a close eye on him.

As Saul Alinsky himself once said, ridicule is man's most powerful weapon.

How does it feel to have your own tactics shoved down your throat, Joey?

His own son stated that his dad was obsessed with Palin, so it’s highly likely he does have a big crush on her.

I’m sure, in this economy, that there were many houses for sale in that city.

But he picks the one RIGHT NEXT DOOR.

Yeah, because “the price was right”, eh?

The Obamabot MSM bubbleheads were trying to cover for this guy.

‘Cuz they are Palin-haters. Plain and simple.

So what did he rent next door for, to sit around in his under-ware with this binoculars and sweaty palms?

Say.... WHERE did the article go which quotes the son as saying his dad had a crush on Sarah Palin?

I did a quick search for "Joe McGinniss, JR." but the online story which originally contained the quote doesn't seem to anymore.

Is the MSM doing a coverup or censorship on Joe Junior's comments about his father when this story first broke?

Crime author accused of stalking Palin by conservatives while left defends him
Metronews Toronto - May 26, 2010

"...Meantime, McGinniss' son, Joe McGinniss, Jr., jokingly suggested that his father is sweet on Palin: "He's convinced...."

Can someone please assist freeper mo in tracking down the precise quotes attributed to the stalker's son?

THANKS!!

Does anyone happen to have a link for where Joe Mcginniss's son, Joe Mcginniss, Jr. was said to have described his dad as being obsessed with Sarah?

Thanks.

Who’s paying the rent? Who located the house for him? Who signed the lease? WHO WHO WHO is involved in this?

Nah - it’s just a coincidence he moved in right next door... let’s hope the bio is more honest than its author.

I’m sure, in this economy, that there were many houses for sale in that city.

He's actually renting for $1500/mo. He claims that he would have chosen the same deal even if it was across town. BS. The "penetrating" Matt Lauer seemed to conveniently forget to mention (as did the little report shown before the interview) about how the owner of the house is anti-Palin to the core and actively sought out this hack of a writer and cut the deal.

This piece goes to show how complicit Lauer and NBC are at actively avoiding the most basic question that gets to the root of the issue and instead working around the edges and filling in the rest with fluff.

I have never really paid attention to the publisher of a book I was interested in.

Not any more.

If it’s Random House, it stays on the shelf. I don’t want it.

May G-d BLESS you mightily, EEE!!!

"UPDATE: I haven't been able to reach McGinniss, but did send an errant email to his son, the novelist Joe McGinniss Jr., who replied, "Sadly, she's right. The son claimed that the owner of the house, Catherine E. Taylor located Joe Mcginniss and offerred the house to him. She knew he was working on a book about his heart throb, Sarah.
