Gay community pushes Mark Kirk out of the closet
Republican News Watch ^ | June 1, 2010 | Doug Ibendahl

Posted on 06/01/2010 3:34:32 PM PDT by DesertRenegade

We knew this was coming, but some Republicans chose to keep their heads in the sand.

As we reported over the weekend, Mike Rogers of BlogACTIVE.com wrote on Saturday that Mark Kirk is definitely gay, and promised to follow up with more details.

Rogers has now done just that. His follow-up story is here: Truth or Consequences.

We find Rogers’ reporting very credible and frankly it just confirms what’s been widely rumored for years.

From Rogers’ article:

In an effort to move the base in Illinois Senate race, Kirk decided to tack right and that means throwing the gays (like him) under the bus. And once he voted that way, the phone began to ring. Not one or two, or three but 5 separate individuals contacted me about the now divorced Mr. Kirk. (Mr. and Mrs. Kirk were married from 2001 to 2009, the marriage produced no children.)

Within hours of the DADT repeal vote I was contacted by two people who knew Kirk from his college days.

“In law school in DC everyone knew Mark was gay,” the first source told me. I explained that the information was intriguing, it would not be enough to go on. He continued, “But I had sex with him a number of times.” Well, now we’re onto something I thought. “Could someone verify for me that you knew Kirk and went to school with him?” I asked. “Yes” was the swift reply. “Could you recall personal details about Kirk that others may not know?” “Yes,” he said.

And he did.

The next source claimed to have gone to undergraduate school with Kirk. I asked for proof that he and Kirk were in school together and once that was shared with me, I met with the source. The source introduced me to a man whom had also been friends with Kirk college. They both shared with me their interactions with Kirk, including one sexual in nature. The source who claimed to have sex with Kirk described personal details about the House, um, er, “member.” The description was the same as the first source.

And in DC, Kirk wasn’t all THAT closeted. You see Mark Kirk told me he was gay. Before I had BlogActive, I had a life in Washington. As a fundraiser I raised major gifts from $5,000 to over $1,000,000… You don’t do that kind of work at a keyboard, you do it at events with attended by people with money. The movers and shakers and their friends.

It was early 2004 when I was at a social gathering on Capitol Hill. I’m guessing there were 35-40 people present, including the guy who brought me as his guest. While the party was no means a “gay” party, I’d guess that of the men at least 75% were overtly gay. The others present were either straight men or their women friends.

It was at that party that I met Mark Kirk. I was introduced to him by the person I came with and at the time did not realize he was a member of the House. As my friend walked away, Kirk asked me if the man who introduced us was “single or attached.” When I said that he had a partner Kirk replied disappointingly, “oh, well.” At the end of that interaction I walked away and didn’t think much of it at the time.

Then Kirk became a hypocrite. Kirk voted against repealing Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, despite his being a closeted gay man in the military. As a Commander in the Navy Reserves Kirk has voted to keep a policy that if he were investigated under he would be tossed.

Recently we learned that it’s just not about his being a closeted gay man that Kirk lies about; he has a habit of making up awards supposedly given to him by the Navy.

Nice try, Mark. The gig is up.

Oh, that's right. There's only one permitted viewpoint on DADT within the Gay community. You couldn't have a diversity of opinion on that matter.

So, when they couldn't blackmail him into switching his vote by threatening to out him - they outed him. Nice!

I don’t know if the guy is gay or not but stories like this is BS. From what I’ve heard about the guy he doesn’t “tack” right at all. I’m so sick of liberals I want to vomit, all I've ever heard about him is that he's a RINO. Probably perfect for Illinois.

“So what’s wrong with being gay?”

I may be out of touch with current political correctness - but in my opinion any man who finds some kind of erotic attraction to the filthy waste elimination canal of another male has a serious mental illness. Plus, once Kirk embraces the lifstyle, he will become a tool of the homosexual militants just like Roy Ashburn is now doing (eg gay marriage).

Faking the military record doesn’t seem to be hurting Blumenthal much, sadly. But they will make it a big scandal for Kirk.

As much as the thought of his lefty crook opponent being in the Senate angers me, it looks like Kirk’s very liberal voting record means we don’t lose much if he gets defeated. It’s just very sad. This race was winnable. A 51 seat majority for Republicans could have been possible but it looks less likely now.

Gads...not again. I am no fan of Mr. Rogers(who is a lying partisan blackmailer)...but good grief.....can we ditch the two faced liars in our own party for cryin out loud?!

It would be one thing if the guy was elected as an openly gay republican, but to lie about it and get elected as something he is not hurts our whole party.

"Not every homosexual believes in the same thing"

Of course not, but enough do that it's fair to generalize.

“it is not impossible to be gay and conservative”

The reason why it’s so hard to believe is that every time one of these groups surfaces like ‘Log Cabin’ or ‘GOProud’ and claims to be conservative - almost immediately they start pushing the same old gay agenda of homosexual marriage, prancing fruit soldiers, indoctrination in schools, etc. Their lifestyle choice always seems to eventually become their first priority.

I’ve heard lots of things about lots of people. I hate the tabloid trash reporting. Why not demand names of the accusers?

The author doesn’t understand the “don’t ask” part, just wants to tell. “If there’s an investigation . . .” wouldn’t be allowed under “don’t ask.”

I think Kirk ought to be judged like anyone else: his positions on the issues and competency.

He's an ultra liberal bastard on every single issue.

Thanks for the heads up. Would he be worse than the D? Is there a chance in HELL that a write in conservative could win in Illinois?

“If there’s an investigation . . .” wouldn’t be allowed under “don’t ask.” Actually, not true. Kirk agreed to abide by the UCMJ when he enlisted. If he is indeed a homosexual and has ever engaged in male/male sex during his entire military career - he violated the policy and is subject to discharge. There is good reason for the rule as active homosexuals put a much greater risk on the military blood supply (that's why they are totally banned from donating blood by the FDA). A lot of civilians aren't aware of these rules. If a homosexual wants to serve, they agree to be 100% celibate during the totality of their enlistments (on and off-duty time) per UCMJ Art 125 sec A.

I don’t think it’s a good idea to be telling homosexuals, blacks, hispanics, whatever, “You’re supposed to be voting for Democrats, and were are going to single you out if you don’t.”

I think the organizing does it—truly. Because the guy I spoke about, as an individual, was a fine person. Groupthink or liberal leadership may be the reason...

I agree DR, it is not a question of whether or not homosexuals can be conservative. It is a matter of running for political office at all. A question of judgment and character, and as un-PC as it is to say, the truth is they have poor in both categories. That being the truth, they should not be making judgment calls (votes) that will effect the entire country. If that bothers or offends some, then they are offended by truth, and there is nothing I can do to help them.
