Israeli Response Justified on All Accounts
Captain Dave Funk ^ | June 01, 2010 | Captain Dave Funk

Recent accounts attacking Israel for action taken toward “humanitarian activists,” as they like to call them, have been all but factual. Israel has been victimized by anti-Semitic activists sent to “break” the barrier for the passage of weapons (likely originating from Iran) to the Gaza strip. With outside help, these terrorist groups, including Hamas and Hezbollah, have been able to launch attacks on innocent Israeli citizens and IDF troops including over 12,000 small rockets.

One accurate report said it best: “Under international law, Israel has the right to protect the lives of its civilians from Hamas attacks, and, consequently, has undertaken measures to defend itself, including the imposition of a maritime blockade to curb Hamas rearmament. Under international maritime law, when a maritime blockade is in effect, no vessels can enter the blockaded area.”

Israel’s IDF forces did the same thing the United States of America would do in similar circumstances: they fought to ensure the safety of their country and its citizens. They defended themselves when attacked on the flotilla after giving multiple warnings international maritime law requires. These armed activists had ample warning and acted defiantly, trying to ensnare Israel into a trap. Video accounts demonstrate that these terrorists were just that—and can be found at CongressNeedsFunk.com in the news page.

It is our obligation to stand with Israel, our ally, and to defend the only democracy in the Middle East. Quite different from President Obama’s strategy thus far, we must stand with our allies and support the IDF’s actions.

We live in complicated and dangerous times. Countries in the Middle East are choosing sides, and most are explicitly or implicitly falling in line with the radical Islamic terrorism that is increasingly being supported by Iran. Dave Funk is the only candidate in this race that has the experience, temperament and background to help lead during times like these. Defending our nation and our allies is one of the primary roles of the Federal government. Congress needs to deal with these terrorists and tyrannical governments. To support our allies and help defend our country, there is no one better in Iowa’s Third District than Dave Funk.

You know what looking over at yahoo, comments are sickening. There is so much hate for Isreal and the Jewish people I think we are living in 1930s Germany.. I mean the viral and sickening comments make me want to scream.. It makes my heart sad that people are coddling the Palis and Arabs... Isreal stands alone.. I will go fight if it comes to it.

Yes, it is disgusting that so many people are so prejudiced against Israel. Unfortunately, it is foretold.

If any of the complaining countries were to experience the same environment, they would do the same OR more likely be more aggressive with their self declared enemies. It is unfortunate that so many in political power are so anti-Semitic.

When all turn against Israel (US one of remaining - until Obama), well, hold on...

No kidding the way things are going, I imagine the Mayans may be right about 2012.. I don’t know what would happen in this country if Obama sided with the arabs in a fight with Isreal.. I know I would be in Washington protesting or more..

Protest... Well, if Washington still exists! Things seem to going the way that the Mayans predicted - maybe their calendar really has some meaning...heh.

I’m afraid that with the pro-Arab Obama (never too early to bow) policies things will get out of hand quicker than you think. Hey, no problem, Obama will just use diplomacy to calm things down...geez.

The more of this vermin Israel exterminates, the better the planet becomes.

Even if we stop the democrats in November, recent events have made me think there is a critical mass of evil in the world and in our own country. Things are going to come to a head one way or another. Whether that means judgment day or civil war I do not know but the things I see and hear tell me that there are many of my “countrymen” with whom it is no longer possible to coexist. I hope they are simply a vocal fringe who will scatter like roaches when Americans see them for what they are but when you hear people say that Jews are Nazi’s it is hard to have faith in the populous.
