An American woman lost her eye yesterday during a demonstration in Jerusalem against Israel's naval raid on a Gaza aid flotilla. Maryland college student Emily Henochowicz, 21, was hit in the face by a tear gas canister shot by an Israeli border policeman and underwent surgery in a local hospital, where she is now recuperating.

There is a reason why we have so many words in the English language. Words mean things. Calling this a “protest” is just one example of spin. Had this girl been injured “protesting” I’d be the first to demand justice. However, she wasn’t “protesting”, she was “rioting” Riots are dangerous business. Smart people avoid them like the plague.
