Do you get a bag for the bag at the bag store?

I guess I’ll just have to buy less. Only buy what I can carry. Of course, that will mean more trips to the store.

One local grocery store used a mixture of bags that were supposedly bio-degradable and regular. It recently changed ownership and I haven’t seen the bio-degradables in it now.

I haven’t seen any other store using the bio-degradable ones. They are probably more costly to the stores.

thanks.

So why not put a tax on the plastic bags too? Did they think this would lose revenue from the paper bags?

I live in northern California and my favorite grocery store stopped using plastic bags about a year ago. It’s now just paper or you can bring your own.

Figures. The politicians of California have made the state bankrupt and they are at the capital discussing how plastic bags affect the environment. How about homes empty, abandoned property and starving citizens causing some environmental damage? These pussies need to look at some of the real issues and get a life.

I expect in 10 years they will find a problem with the cloth ones

There have already been problems associated with the cloth bags. They tend to hold liquid that drip from the contents. That liquid attracts bacteria. Thus, unless they are washed and sanatized frequently, they can be the source of bacteria.

I’m always amazed when the cashier at Wal-Mart puts the plastic bag of paper plates in a plastic bag. Same thing with the plastic bag of potato’s. I use them to carry my lunch in so who I am to complain?

A referendum to ban legislators would pass in a heart beat.

Wonder who is going to circulate the petition?

Interesting to see what happens with food stamp customers who truly can’t afford the bags (there are a few).

Good point.
I have allot of Trader Joe bags because they are just cool. Use them for beach stuff and pic nicks. I never even thought about the bacteria. Thanks? .-)
