White House: Obama unaware of job offers in Colorado

WASHINGTON — The White House says President Barack Obama was unaware one of his top advisers suggested job opportunities to potential Colorado Senate candidate Andrew Romanoff in hopes of persuading him not to run against Sen. Michael Bennet, whom the president favored.
The White House faced fresh questions over back-room dealmaking after acknowledging that one of President Barack Obama's top advisers encouraged Romanoff to apply for an international development job instead of challenging Bennet.
