The Illinois State Police are following up on a lead in rural central Illinois regarding the 2007 disappearance of Stacy Peterson, the fourth wife of former Bolingbrook Police Sgt. Drew Peterson.

Police did not provide any more specifics on where they were working, though a release from the police said that a media staging area is being set up near Peoria. There were no additional details available on the nature of the lead they were working on.

“She was found drowned in an empty bathtub in her Bolingbrook home.”

This is either poor journalism or proof that he is guilty.

It’s kinda hard to drown in an empty bathtub.

True story! There are facts in this case that will curl your hair as far as mishandling of this series of cases involving a police officer as the ‘person of interest. Incompetence at best, collusion a strong possibility. This is a good case to follow. His son is a cop in a nearby town, too.

OH absolutely. It was a cover up from the start. This guy needs to be in the slammer at the least and get a needle at the most.

Or the killer just pulled the plug. Or her body could have shifted a bit and moved it.
Anyway you look at it, she almost certainly was murdered, as was the fourth wife.

It's not hard to drown in a full bathtub that subsequently becomes empty, either because someone unplugged it or because the plug leaks and the water runs slowly out.

Uh....supposedly the position of the body made it impossible to rule it as accidental, thus the case was changed to homicide. Poor investigative technique mixed with other alleged improprieties were set aside with a fresh examination of the evidence - it was NOT an accident - and could not have been an accident.

he knows there is no death penalty so he will never give it up.
thats ok, prison for a cop sounds like a good enough punishment.
