Hearst Newspapers is refusing to say whether it will stand by White House veteran reporter Helen Thomas in the wake of conservative outrage over her remarks about Jews leaving Palestine and going back to Europe.

Believe it or not, a thread I saw on DummyUnderground was mostly critical of her comments. Maybe the HuffPost has more wackos than DU...which would be amazing.

I am looking forward to an illustration of her wearing a woman’s brownshirt (Sturmabteilung) uniform.
Though properly, she should be in the uniform of a “collaborationnistes”, a fascist collaborator in Vichy controlled Lebanon, even though she was born in the US, and was 21 year old at the time. It must have pained her terribly to see her beloved French fascists driven out of Lebanon.
(Lots of possible variations on this. Fascists were nothing if not for often changing the names of their organizations and uniforms.)
Where is the Jewish outrage? Where are the leading Rabbis hollering their disapproval? Jews may be God’s chosen people, but more often I think He left out the “obvious as the nose on your face” and political gene with them.
My point here was to show the world that the land belonged to the Jews before the Palestinians. Palestinians lay claim to the land but ancient history shows different. My opinion anyway.
WaPo has to editorialize. Conservative outrage? What idiots they are.
She should lose it.
Sent a very polite note to all seven of them saying I was appalled by her comments.
If a conservative had made this statement, the left would be up in arms and it would be in every newspaper.
It took HuffPo all day to get on it. Drudge brought it forward and the blogosphere drove it. Many HuffPost readers no doubt agree with her. If I have a chance I’ll go read the comments and summarize them later.
The thread I viewed had quite a few people critical of her comments. Even a few self-identified libs called for her resignation.
The Washington Post writer seems to support Helen’s position on sending the Jews back to Poland and Germany. He is characterizing the outrage as an “assault” on her by conservatives, rather than the evilness of her Hitler-like comments.
This is why Iran was ripped apart by liberals and then taken back by radical Theocrats...why Afghanistan was ripped apart by leftists and, then taken over by radical totalitarian theocrats. Liberals are stupid.
I found the same thing at DU. It was utterly incredible, in every sense of the word.
Thomas isn’t a just a racist. She is a Nazi.
