U.S. Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan as an aide to former President Bill Clinton said that federal legislation criminalizing doctor-assisted suicide was a fairly terrible idea, according to newly disclosed documents.
Kagans hand-written note was included among 46,500 pages of records the William J. Clinton Presidential Library released yesterday. The documents shed new light on Kagans views on social issues including affirmative action, gun control and cloning.
The assisted-suicide note was prompted by Oregons 1997 enactment of a right-to-die law, which stirred an ultimately unsuccessful move by congressional Republicans to override the statute with a federal ban. In her note, after suggesting the possibility of Clinton backing such a law, Kagan immediately shot down the idea.
This is a fairly terrible idea, but I know Begala likes it, she said in the 1998 note, referring to Clinton adviser Paul Begala.

People thought we couldn’t get worse than Stevens... This filthy diseased Molech worshiping lesbo is showing those people wrong. Kagan will by far be the most leftist degenerate piece of filth ever to serve on SCOTUS if she is confirmed.
I support states’ rights, but assisted suicide itself is a terrible idea, although I don’t condemn the terminally ill patients.

She’s definitely evil. Could explain what’s wrong with the Harvard campus these days ~ bunch of ‘em up there.
Here’s another example of what you pointed out.
I guess when Kagan is confirmed, we’ll have our first Nazi on the court.
Much to the chagrin of everyone here, I go with states rights on this one as I do on abortion and drugs even though I’d work to have it illegal in my state (the same as I would abortion, drugs are a different story)
I definitely want Kagan to be questioned on this.
I agree. She has to be questioned on all of these issues.
It’s not a surprise that she supports assisted suicide. She is an extreme leftist who would also support gay marriage, and of course gays in the military—the reason she gave for preventing recruitment on campus.
Obama is an extremist who voted three times to block the infants born alive protection act. He likes the idea of throwing live babies into the trash and letting them die there. So, clearly, does Kagan.
The opponents of Terri Shaivo (was she buried under her maiden or married name?) were so stubbornly ignorant, it was infuriating. She was already dead and the machine was living, not her. One wishes they could try electric shocks to break the hypnotic trance they seemed to be under.
By opponents of Terri you mean those who wanted to murder her right?
She was NOT on life support.
She was buried under her married name by her estranged, adulterous and murderous husband. As a final act of indignity she was cremated and her ashes were mixed in with the ashes of her cat (Mikey also killed the cat).
